An e-sports journalist and a Dota 2 professional player engaged in a fist fight at DreamHack Winter over the weekend; forcing the organizers to call in the police.

Alliance player Jonathan ‘Loda’ Berg started an argument with Breitbart writer Richard Lewis regarding a tweet that Lewis has written concerning Loda’s girlfriend; Alliance’s player manager, Kelly Ong Xiao Wei.

The organizers were forced to intervene after things got physical followed by calling security and police to gather statements from the concerned parties and eyewitnesses:

Once the entire incident was put to rest, both Loda and Lewis returned to Twitter to discuss things further:

In addition to this, DreamHack also issued an official statement stating that the security and safety of everyone is of the utmost importance to them:

It is of the utmost importance for DreamHack to operate an event in which all visitors, staff, exhibitors, and competitors can feel safe.

All parties, DreamHack, Richard Lewis and Loda deeply regret that an environment existed in which this situation occurred, and that the confrontation escalated as it did. All parties have jointly talked with DreamHack Security Crew, as well as police and believe the best actions are to put aside our differences and come together to move forward with the conclusion of DreamHack Winter 2015.
