Dota 2 Had 11 Million Unique Players in February

Dota 2 has went past 11 million unique players last month. The total install base has also gone past 42 million worldwide, according to a new report.

There is no stopping Dota 2. The game has reached a new milestone by having more than 11 million unique players last month. The popularity and the number of players logging into games like Dota 2 and League of Legends, is a testament to the success MOBA genre has gained.

11 million unique players last month is an impressive achievement, but there’s something even more amazing. According to a new report, Dota 2 installation rate has increased 85% year over year. That means over 42 million installations have been made around the world.

The report suggests that as of February 2015, Dota 2 has 42.9 million copies installed worldwide. Also, an estimated number revealed that 34% of the entire Steam user base owns Dota 2. The number of users logging in has also increased 54% year over year due to an increase in the install base.

Moreover, the daily peak touched 1.26 million players during the recent New Bloom event. However, last year’s event saw a daily activity of 698,000 players, that’s an 81% increase.

So yes, that’s an impressive achievement as players are seen investing a huge amount of time in Dota 2 and Valve has done a great job keeping people engaged.
