We have finally got our first look at Devil May Cry 5’s Bloody Palace survival mode in the latest trailer shown during the recent episode of Capcom TV. The gameplay shows us Dante, Nero, and V in action, taking down hordes of demons using different combos while the clock is ticking.
The survival mode turns out to be the best way for players to try out new combos. Capcom has finally announced that the new survival mode update will arrive on April 1st. This might seem like an April fools joke but it’s not according to the developer.
Blood Palace mode has been a part of many previous games in the Devil May Cry series. Basically, it’s a challenging area/single player elimination tournament where you will take on endless enemies and some bosses. Once you have cleared the enemies in the first area, you will be dropped down into the next one to do it all over again but only if you can.
Details regarding this new Devil May Cry V mode are scarce but it’s expected to come with some kind of Score/Completion time leaderboards allowing you to compete with friends or strangers. Like me, you’ll find yourself chasing those SSStylish grades so keep changing characters until you find the one which helps you last longer during the challenge.
There’s no mention of co-op support within this mode but it’s eventually going to arrive at some point. Previously, data miners found some references to matchmaking option via the game’s files so maybe the developers are currently working on it. It’s one of the most requested features and if it happens, it’ll be really fun to take on waves of enemies with your friends.
Another possible addition to the mode in the future could be Vergil which was also found hidden in the game’s files. Vergil is one of the main protagonists of Devil May Cry series so getting to play as him is a win for all fans. Do take this data mined information with a grain of salt.
In related news, Devil May Cry 5 update version 1.05 is now live on all platforms except for the PC version. The update is very small just requiring 300 MB of system storage on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The patch notes for this update don’t say much except for “bug fixes”.
