Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has been at the center of controversy for a while now. It first used the term “mechanical apartheid” in promotional materials. Now, the game is once again being criticized for its use of “Aug Lives Matter” slogan.

The slogan is similar to the one used by BML – Black Lives Matter movement. The community is accusing Mankind Divided team of using recent unfortunate events to promote its game. However, the similarity between the slogans is being described as an “unfortunate coincidence.”

According to Eidos Montreal, they’ve been writing the game for 5 years while BLM came to existence in 2013. It is just an unfortunate coincidence. They are in no way using BLM slogan to promote their game.

Whether it was a coincidence or not, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided should avoid negative publicity. Especially, when it comes to dealing with controversial topics.
