A Few Detroit: Become Human Scenes Were Deleted Due To Their Controversial Nature

It has been few years since Quantic Dream announced its upcoming Detroit: Become Human and while we have no release date for the game but, the devs have revealed that they deleted few scenes from the game because of their extremely controversial nature.

In an interview with PlayStation Magazine, studio founder David Cage revealed that the team removed some scenes from Detroit: Become Human because he felt that these scenes could cause the wrong interpretation of the game’s message and he wanted to be very clear with his message.

Honestly, I canceled a couple of scenes where I felt the meaning could be interpreted wrongly. It was a very interesting thing for me because it made me realize that with Detroit: Become Human, that we are dealing with very meaningful things and that you need to be careful and be respectful and pay attention to what you have to say.

In related news, During the DICE Summit 2017 broadcast earlier this year, David Cage talked about Detroit: Become Human revealing that writing games is a painful process.

Cage explained that in the past the games were simple and focused on game mechanics to test player’s skill. However, as the time has passed gamers wanted a reason to shoot and kill in video games and that is where the story comes in.

Also, Quantic Dreams has revealed that aside from taking the storytelling to another level, Detroit: Become Human will push PlayStation 4 to its limits.

Furthermore, David Cage has revealed that Detroit: Become Human will feature three times more choices compared to Heavy Rain. He added that there are so many alternate paths that two people might face a scenario where one is talking about its experience and the other doesn’t have a clue about what he/she is saying.

Currently, no release date has been announced for Detroit: Become Human but the game is expected to launch in 2018 exclusively for PlayStation 4.
