Destiny players may be getting some free Silver, but that doesn’t look like it will get them far in the store. Today the pricing has been revealed for the microtransactions, as well as the emotes you can spend the Silver on.
Firstly, here is how much the Silver will cost you:
- 2000 Destiny Silver (+300 Bonus) – $19.99/£15.99
- 1000 Destiny Silver (+100 Bonus) – $9.99/£7.99
- 500 Destiny Silver – $4.99/£3.99
Looking at Playstation Store we also now have the official description of the new currency:
“Purchase 1000 Destiny Silver and receive 100 bonus Destiny Silver, an in-game currency you can use in Destiny to buy goods for your character in the Eververse Store.
Visit Tess Everis in the Tower to see her available inventory.”
What will you be able to buy with your purchased Silver? Well for now there are new emotes:
- Chest Pump
- Crying on the knees
- Bring It On
- Evil Hand Rub
- Finger Across The Neck
- Slow Clap
- Blowing a Kiss
- Fist Pump
- Baseball Swing
- And You’re Safe
- Give Me a Break
- Good Job
- Victory Cheer
- The Carlton
While these emotes may be fun, should Destiny fans have to buy them? Destiny has long been criticised for the cost of its DLC releases and how much it expects from the fans. With the addition of microtransactions some may question just how far Bungie can go before people start to get tired of having to continually pay into the game.
As these microtransactions are for voluntary of course, we don’t have to buy them, and I’m sure Bungie will point that out. Just how profitable this new money making scheme will be for Bungie will have to be seen.
