Destiny 2 PC Will Restrict Third-Party Capture And Voice Chat Apps

Destiny 2 PC beta will start later this month and gamers are eager to play it. According to Activision, the Destiny 2 console beta has been universally praised and it seems that Destiny 2 PC beta will be no different. The PC beta of Destiny 2 is also very less demanding of hardware and now Bungie has dropped another bomb.

Bungie has announced that some of the third-party apps for in game capture and voice chat will not work properly with Destiny 2 on PC. According to Bungie, the studio is blocking these third-party apps to prevent cheating in Destiny 2 on PC.

To help ensure that every player will have a fair shot at fun and glory in Destiny 2 on PC, we resist attempts by third-party applications to insert code into the game client. This may result in incompatibility between Destiny 2 PC and the features of common third-party applications.

According to Bungie, apps such as in-game streaming and game capture apps, OBS and XSplit, Overlays, Voice Communications, Hardware monitoring apps will not be supported on the PC version of Destiny 2.

Bungie has noted that “third-party applications which repeatedly attempt to insert code into the Destiny 2 PC client may potentially impact game performance” and to ensure that the performance will remain on par Bungie has taken the step to lock out third-party apps from the PC version of Destiny 2.

Also, Bungie has detailed the content that will be featured in the upcoming Destiny 2 PC beta. According to Bungie, the PC beta of the game will include homecoming mission, the Inverted Spire Strike, and the Countdown and Control multiplayer modes which were already featured in the console beta but, it will also include some new content too.

Destiny 2 is a first-person action shooter in development at Bungie and is scheduled to launch this fall for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
