Destiny 2 File Size Has Been Revealed For Xbox One And Playstation 4

The Destiny 2 file size has been revealed for both the Xbox One and the Playstation 4, allowing players that are going to buy the games on either platform to know just how much space they’ll be taking up on your console. According to the digital stores of each, you’ll need around 30 gigs each.

Specifically, the Xbox One version of the game will need 29.15 gigabytes of free space, while the Playstation 4 version will be 30.87 gigabytes. The larger download size for the Playstation 4 may be because of the exclusive content that players will likely get, which has been part of Destiny since the original game came out. Currently, there’s no size that’s been revealed for the PC version (though we’ll likely find out about that in October.)

Along with the file sizes for the vanilla versions of the game, players will likely need more space to free up for the various expansions that are going to be coming along with Destiny 2, whenever they’re announced and released.

In addition to the increased size needed for the DLC, players can also take solace in knowing that the new game has almost twice as much content as the original. The first Destiny game required around 18.67 gigabytes of free space in order to be installed, which increased dramatically as the various expansions and patch updates were implemented over the next three years.

With the Destiny 2 file size already so high, it’s likely that we’ll be getting a lot more bang for our buck this time around. Destiny 2 has promised an expansive story and a lot of content, but considering the last game and its various promises Bungie will have to work hard to live up to those for fear of another disappointment like the first game.

Destiny 2 will be releasing on September 6 for the Xbox One and Playstation 4, and on October 24 for the PC. There’s no telling when you’ll be able to pre-load it, but hopefully it’ll be soon.
