Death Stranding PS4 Exclusivity Removed, News On PC Port Forthcoming Soon?

Eagle-eyed Playstation fans might have noticed that suddenly, Death Stranding PS4 exclusivity is no longer advertised on the official Playstation website. But don’t worry, it doesn’t mean that the game is suddenly going to the Epic Store or anything like that (yet), but the game might just be going to the PC.

Way back several years ago, when Hideo Kojima first joined up with Sony after leaving Konami, Death Stranding was announced to be coming not just to the Playstation 4, but also to the PC. Since then the game has mainly been marketed as a Playstation 4 exclusive.

However, even though Death Stranding PS4 exclusivity was a thing as far back as May, suddenly it’s not part of the exclusivity thing anymore, which likely means that we’ll be getting Death Stranding on PC, as was originally announced.

While a PC version of Death Stranding was originally marketed, there were a few statements made that the PC version of the game would not come out for a long while after the Playstation 4 version of the game was released.

Since Death Stranding is slated to be released on the Playstation 4 on November 8 of this year, that news at least looks to be accurate. To start porting this late likely means that we won’t be seeing the PC version of the game for a pretty long while.

However, even with Death Stranding PS4 exclusivity removed, that doesn’t mean that it will actually be a PC release. It could be coming to any number of other platforms, but we’ll have to wait until Gamescom on August 19 to actually see where it’s going, since Kojima has promised something new about the game happening there.

With only around three months until Death Stranding comes out, we’ll likely be kept guessing up until the very end of the game’s lead-up time. Once again, the game will be coming out on November 8, not just on the Playstation 4 but whatever else it’s released on.
