Death Stranding on PC Confirmed, Coming Next Summer

It is official! Death Stranding is coming to PC. After 6 to 8 months of Playstation 4 exclusivity, Kojima Productions will release their first game on PC too. The news comes from the studio’s official Twitter page, sending the community into a frenzy.

It’s always better when a video game is not a console exclusive and everyone can play it. Over the past years, PC games were “left outside alone” when it comes to great single-player games like God of War and more. Kojima Productions is changing that, by lifting the exclusivity on their upcoming game after half a year. The game releases on Playstation 4 in something more than a week and it will arrive on PC sometime next summer. The original announcement reads:

Thanks to all of you who have been supporting #DEATHSTRANDING! DEATH STRANDING release on PS4 is November 8, 2019!! Furthermore, KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS is happy to announce that DEATH STRANDING will be coming to PC in early summer of 2020!!

We don’t know which platforms will have the privilege to have Death Stranding on their storefronts. We expect both Steam and Epic Store to be the first to get it though. We highly doubt that Kojima Productions will jump into another exclusivity with Epic Games’ platform. However, we’ll have to wait a bit more to know for sure.

Interestingly, Hideo Kojima has a surprise set for us regarding Death Stranding. One day before the embargo is released for reviews, there will be an announcement made by the creative. Through a publication on the Twitter account of PlayStation France, they announced that within the framework of Paris Games Week 2019, an event will be held from October 30 to November 3. Hideo Kojima will be there and will reveal a related surprise with Death Stranding.

Could this surprise be the Death Stranding PC release? It seems like a possibility. It isn’t every day that we see such great news. More and more games are “taking a leap” onto PC after the launch of the Epic Store. Journey, Heavy Rain, Beyond two Souls and Detroit: Become Human have paved the way for more to come.

Note that the review embargo lifts in 3 days, meaning that for a week there will be spoilers hitting you from everywhere. If you’re serious about the game and want to experience it first hand when it releases, stay away from social media for a few days. We’ll keep you informed with more news, guides and, of course, the review for Death Stranding in the meantime.

Always looking for a deep story, empathetic characters, and a great soundtrack in video games. Hardcore game hoarder and a strong believer that one day Xbox will win the console war.
