Dead Cells Bestiary

You can either walk up to them and hit them with a melee weapon or bait their Lunge Attack followed by a quick attack. Alternatively, you can try to sneak up on them from behind or use a jump attack.

Always try to deal with Grenadiers before other enemies. If they have not spotted you, try to rush them down. In case they have spotted you, try to create some distance to avoid the bombs and then deal with them.

 Shield Bearer

Try to bait its Charge Attack and roll through it in order to get behind it. Since it takes a lot of time to turn around, you should have ample time to kill it. You can also lob a bomb behind it or use things like the Flamethrower Turret, the Meat Grinder, the Ice Bow, the Phaser ability, etc.

 Undead Archer

If you can, somehow, get behind them: awesome! Otherwise, try to maintain a safe distance and roll towards them. Never try to roll backward when against the Undead Archer.

This enemy has more poise as compared to Zombie; therefore, do not try to spam attacks. Try to roll behind it, attack a couple of times, and prepare to dodge again. Use the same strategy until you manage to defeat it.

 Shield Dummy

If there are enemies like Phazer nearby, try to lure it and kill it first. Once done, lure other enemies out of its range so that it cannot buff them. Once its shield disappears, head in and finish the job.

 Cyclops Bug

Firstly, things like bombs, throwing knives, and Electric Whip are very effective against it. Alternatively, try to bait its Charge Attack and attack once the attack animation is over.

It has little to no poise so you can easily stunlock it. In order to reach it, you need to bait its attack and close in some distance. Continue doing it until you can reach it by rolling forward and kill it.

 Red Bug

When against this enemy, try to find some open space, attack it a couple of times, and retreat. Alternatively, you can use some AOE attacks to deal with them effectively.

I recommend closing in the gap and continue hitting it as soon as you see one emerge from the ground. If you fail to do so, try to use ranged attacks or roll through its projectile. Since it has low poise, you should easily stunlock it.

 Ugly Worm

Its eggs are annoying which is why I recommend using ranged attacks in order to deal with it. If you have some immobilizing skills at your disposal, make sure to use them.

This enemy has two attacks that you need to be careful of, its clawing attack and its teleportation skill that it uses to quickly get within striking distance of you. It has no defensive abilities so just avoid its attacks and attack.

This enemy does not have any offensive capabilities that you need to be wary of. But its specialty lies in its defensive capability of making nearby enemies invincible for several seconds (has a brief cooldown). So the fight couls be made a lot more hassle free if you take it out first.

As the name implies this enemy spawns bombs, it can release 4 bombs at a time which explode briefly after being released. This enemy also summons Sewer Flies.

Literally going after its name, it releases a flaming shockwave after a short charge, this covers a huge area and as a defense mechanism it tends to roll away if the player gets too close.

Don’t let these get near you as they detonate when they are near enough so it is best to used ranged attacks against them, these are flying orbs that will try to get near you.

This is an airborne enemy type that uses basic slash attacks and tends to fly away when in danger.

Corpse Fly

This enemy uses other enemies as hosts and can do a Slash attack (after host dies)

And can connect themselves with damaging electricity arcs when host is alive.

 Sewer Fly

This is an airborne enemy type that uses basic slash attacks and tends to fly away when in danger.

Purulent Zombie (Sewers)

These Zombies have a basic claw attack for when enemies get too near and at a distance these creatures throw eggs which hatch into Corpse Worms.

Disgusting Worm

Its basic attack is its Bite attack, upon death however, it releases 5 bombs, which explode in rapid succession and it can also teleport after you.

Weaver Worm

Its basic attack is its Bite attack, and it can also teleport after you. It will surprise you by jumping you from your behind.

Corpse Worm

Its basic attack is its Bite attack, and it can also teleport after you. It will surprise you by jumping you from your behind.

Watch out for this mushroom looking enemy as it will turn the ground underneath you to spikes causing heavy damage.

 Sewer’s Tentacle

Its offensive capabilities are that it pops out of the ground directly beneath the player and it can sweep across the ground from either left or right side. And when it is not doing either of its attack it remains sheltered underground so you have to attack it during one of its attacks to get in good hits.

It uses its hook for stunning hookshot which pulls you closer and Immediately follows with a highly damaging blow. These both attacks are dodge able but the window is small so you need to be quick.

Creates a shockwave over a large area of effect which does damage over time and interrupts your actions

What makes this one dangerous is its movements you have to watch out for it spinning towards you. It can quickly change directions to catch you if you roll through it.

 Knife Thrower

This enemy will toss three poisand daggers in a row at you. If players get too close it dashes away and is inviible when not attacking.

Beware this enemy Winds up before rolling towards you. Its defensive abilities include jumping over you, hopping backwards and you get damages if you hit its back.

Although it will not die from this method, it spawns a Corpse Juice if there are less than 3 nearby which drains its health slightly.

 Corpse Juice

Has a basic stap attack, easily dealt and defeated.

It turns other enemies invisible by creating a fog like substance.

It will shoot a high speed orb at you and teleport away if you get too close to it.

Its attacks include its punches, it teleports you next to him if you retreat and creates an Earth shockwave that inflicts longlasting stun.

 Dark Tracker

This enemy swings his dagger to slash at you and this does critical damage if it hits you in the back. It can also teleport behind you.

It has the ability to hop backwards and forwards towards you, it does a three strike combo with its swords that it can stop mid combos if it misses its first attack. When it hops backwards it leaves a grenade behind so watch out.

Dashes up to two times across the platform, will stay invisible until in range, teleports away from the player after attacking.

Its offensive moves include the ability to attack through walls and platforms: 1 hit if attacking vertically, several hits if attacking horizontally.

Guardian Knight

Charges up, and after a few seconds unleashes a whirlwind that sucks you and other enemies as well, otherwise it uses an overhead swing with very high damage. When in whirlwind mode it deflects all arrows.

 Royal Guard
Uses its shield to charge towards the player. Also jumps and stomps near the player, releasing shockwave on impact. Jumps away from the player when close. Protected by a shield that deflects ranged attacks when charging.

It can make an AOE slam attack, is quick to cover distance between players and is immune to stubs.

This enemy makes an unparryable dive attack when above the player, while it throws grenades when at a distance. It can also fly above the player.

Uses basic claw attack in close range shile launches 2 projectiles at player whe n at a distance.

Fires 5 wallpiercing projectiles in a spread from all 3 of its hands. Spawns a bomb on death which fires projectiles in 6 directions.

Ground Shaker

It can shake debris loose from ceilings, it also has combos of 3 melee attacks followed by a longwindup AoE slam. It is immune to stuns and its back is immune to nonwhip attacks.

Rushes in to instantly attack once you’re close enough, often it would do this by leaping towards the player.

 Failed Experiment

It has a basic attack combo of 3 quick melee attacks followed by a head slam which locks them in place, while at range don’t feel safe because it can leap attack towards the player. Performs an invincible dash behind the player when the player uses a main weapon.

 Magistrate of Death

Has the ability to summon screaming skulls. Also if the player gets too close it tends to dash away.

Screaming Skull

These enemies create laser barriers which deal contact damage.  Laser barriers deal high knockback and briefly stun the player.

Charges up a laser to fire at you which can be charged up to three times all the while it floats above the player while attacking.

Bomb Bat

An AOE ability or homing attack is arguably the safest strategy that you can use in order to deal with it. Alternatively, you can also bait the explosion and quickly roll backwards to avoid the damage.

 Brown Bug

When against this enemy, try to find some open space, attack it a couple of times, and retreat. Alternatively, you can use some AOE attacks to deal with them effectively. You must be extra careful when dealing with the Brown Bug.

If you manage to avoid its initial attack, you should have no difficulty in dealing with it. I recommend staying out of its range and using range attacks to kill it.

When it comes to dealing with the Slasher, do not mindlessly rush it and try to use ranged attacks/skills. If you are on a higher platform, try to use arrows. When in melee range, attack after the third attack and only from behind.

The safest strategy is to rush it down and kill it. However, do note that its ranged attack is a field that you cannot dodge. Even if you are outside its lineofsight or behind walls, it will summon its field if damaged. Therefore, try to kill it before it has a chance to call its field.

 Slime Vial

I do not recommend using ranged attacks with finite ammo. Moreover, try to deal with other nearby enemies before dealing with it. Once you are done with all the nearby enemies, deal with the Slimelings and then whack at it.

These enemies usually die in one hit so try to capitalize on that. You can also use ranged attacks in order to deal with them. Finally, you can also use an AOE attack to deal with an entire group.

Mechanical Spider

This enemy has a large HP pool; therefore, do not try to bring it down with ranged attacks. I recommend clearing the platforms of all other enemies before dealing with the Mechanical Spider. When dealing with it, do not spam the attack and exercise patience. Hit it a couple of times, retreat, and hit it again.

Fog Channeler

It is also a buffing enemy like the Shield Dummy. As soon as you see the fog in front of you, use your ranged attacks to bring it down. I also recommend avoiding heading up/down unprepared!

Running Zombie

First, try to deal with all the other enemies in the area. Once done, hit it a couple of times, retreat, and hit it again. I do not recommend spamming the attack button because they can interrupt your attacks.

Meat Grinder

Like the Running Zombie, you need to ensure that the Meat Grinder is alone. Once done, try to bait it into throwing its axe, roll behind it, attack a couple of times, and repeat the process. If you encounter two of them at the same time, try to lure one in and use the strategy provided above!

Pirate Captain

Never try to get in its melee range unless you have stunned it! I recommend using the ranged attack in order to deal with it. Moreover, try to learn the damage radius of the Cannonball and ensure that it does not hit you!

Infested Zombie

Since these enemies are incredibly slow, I recommend leaving them for last! Even if they manage to close in the gap, you should have no difficulty in rolling through their attacks.
