Cyberpunk 2077 is finally here and with that comes the potential of modding Night City in more ways than one. While the modding community is yet to come up with something exceptional, modders continue to land over a dozen or so mods each day. There are hence many mods out there to help players manage their gameplay experience on PC even if by a bit.
Get the correct key bindings
Cyberpunk 2077 for whatever reason forces players to use pre-set keys for in-game actions. These cannot be changed in the current state of the game.
While CD Projekt Red will probably allow players to rebind basic in-game functions down the road, players can install this mod right now to use E to interact instead of F. The mod also allows the mouse scroll for dialogue selection, a single dedicated Left Ctrl for dodging instead of double-tapping, and V to toggle between walk and sprint.
Increase the FOV slider
Cyberpunk 2077 already has a field-of-view slider. This mod increases the maximum FOV value all the way from 30 to 150 with intervals of one instead of five to ensure players can fish-eye most of Night City as possible.
Sharpen up Night City
Cyberpunk 2077 looks beautiful enough by default. Night City though can use a few more touch-ups. This mod adds a reshade preset without any noticeable performance loss at ultra settings and with ray tracing enabled. The resulting visuals are sharper and without any major color alterations.
Playing the original V
Remember the female V protagonist who was first revealed during the E3 2018 gameplay showcase? She went through a little update of her own and with the number of customization presets in the game, players may find it difficult to create a character in her likeness. This mod does that job perfectly and adds a character preset based on the appearance of that E3 2018 V.
Get that Blade Runner feel
The darker and colder vibe of Blade Runner can be achieved in Cyberpunk 2077 to a certain degree. This mod adds a little reshade preset to make visuals a tad darker and with more shadows. If the mod makes already darkers areas difficult to see, adjust its gamma values.
Improve vehicle handling
CD Projekt Red will eventually address how wonky driving can feel at times in the game. Thankfully, there are several Cyberpunk 2077 mods out there to make the handling of cars and bikes less frustrating. This mod in particular shows promise.
Third-Person Mod
If you are playing Cyberpunk 2077 this is one of the mods that you should not skip out on.
This 3rd person mod is made by Jelle Bakker. It will allow you to play Cyberpunk 2077 in the third person. Nobody was expecting a third person mod in Cyberpunk 2077.
For installing this mod first of all you will be needed to install the Cyber Engine Tweaks. Installing the Cyber Engine Tweaks will allow you to access the debug menu and console. This also contains some bug fixes.
After that install the TPP mod. You will have different variants for male and female characters. Since gender determines the neck size of the character it is very important.
After selecting it you have to extract that into your \Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64 directory. This version works fine for you if not then you have to install Cheat Engine as well.
For playing Cyberpunk 2077 in the third person you have to press B and you will be switched to the third person. You can also choose from different camera views by pressing B again.
Better Mini-Map
Most of the players solely rely on the Mini-map. This saves them the hassle of pausing the game and opening up the full-screen map every now and then.
This mod will give you a bigger mini-map, making it easier for you to navigate. Other than, that it will also be transparent and borderless so that its bigger size does not interfere with your gameplay experience.
Finally, it comes equipped with several pre-sets for zooming in and zooming out to help you get the best out of your mini-map.
Realistic Driving Experience
Does the Cyberpunk 2077 car and bike drive experience seem out of whack? Well, in that case this Cyberpunk 2077 mod has you covered.
With this mode you’ll get to experience better driving mechanics around corners, a better suspension, and improved braking mechanics. Above all, you’ll also be able to drift.
The mod will also improve your bike riding experience. However, this doesn’t mean that driving a car or a bike would be easier with this mod. You need to be a real car geek to have fun with this mod.
Also, the mod will give you the truest driving experience when used with a controller.
Disable Intro Videos
If you’re tired of sitting through the intro videos every time you launch the game, then this mod could be the perfect match for you. It will get you to the main menu right away so that you can jump into the game without any delay.
Climate Change
If the sun’s been shining too bright on you, then you can use this mod to change the weather and have it with either fog, pollution, toxic fog, clouds, overcast, or rain.
The weather will cycle between these 6 kinds of weather and you won’t be seeing any sun again.
Get Better Frames
This mod will optimize your game to help you get better frames and a smoother gameplay experience. To do so, this mode will disable some of the irrelevant features of the game such as film grain and experimental fog.
Also, your game will be autosaved after every 10 minutes now.
Judy’s Tattoo Removal Mod
Judy looks beautiful as she is, but if you find her skin too cluttered with tattoos then you can use this mod to add transparent texture to her skin.
This CP 2077 mod will remove all of the tattoos that she has imprinted on her skin.
Alternate Crowd Behavior Mod
This mod makes the game livelier by despawning and then respawning the NPCs in the game. This way, every time you look around, you’ll get to see a different face each time.
The mod has several options that you can opt for. You can either have the NPCs despawn within 5 seconds using the fast settings, or you can set the settings to slow. With the slower settings the NPCs won’t go anywhere for almost 5-10 minutes.
You can also change the settings back to default but given how bland the default NPCs are, who would want that.
Configure Hidden Settings
There are several optimization mods available for Cyberpunk 2077 that will automatically optimize the game for you for better FPS. However, if you want to configure the settings yourself then you need this mod.
This mod will generate configuration files; however, it will not affect any executable files.
It will allow you to play the game at the lowest settings without affecting the image quality. This way you can easily squeeze in an extra 14-24 FPS.
Lower your Walking Speed
Even if you decide to walk your protagonists, they’ll still run. This is how the walking mechanics work in the game. However, using this mod you can actually lower your walking speed so that walking feels like walking.
Unbind your ALT control and then use it to walk your character at sane speeds.
Access Locked Regions
Several doors and lifts lock you out after you finish a mission and region beyond that locked door or lift cannot be accessed anymore. This mod will unlock those doors and lifts for you so that you can access them any time during the game even if they’re originally locked.
Customize Eye Colors
There is a limited number of customizations that could be done to V in the game, let alone customizing the eye color.
This mod will allow you to give different eye color to V. Each eye color will have to be downloaded separately.
Better Lighting
Characters in the game seem to be too glossy or shiny at times and this gives them an artificial look.
This mod improves the lighting by removing the fake glossiness from certain clothes. It also makes the hair shine a little more. These changes can only be noticed if you’re running an RTX graphics card.
Fly Anywhere
This mod will help you defy gravity and roam the skies freely in any possible direction.
This can help you explore all regions of the Night City that you won’t be able to do while on the ground. You can also control your speed with which you fly.
This mod will also work in cars but only in first-person views. This, however, still has bugs so it’s better that you lift off while on foot.
Unlock all Vehicles
If you’re a car enthusiast and can’t wait around to complete the quests and unlock all of the vehicles then you need to download this mod. This mod will unlock all the vehicles in the game and add them to your garage.
However, the mod will only add those vehicles in the garage which could be owned by the player. NPC cars cannot be added to the garage
