Now that the Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti is out and you can buy the custom GTX 1070 Ti models, you must be wondering which one you should get. You can check out our favorite one of them all but if you are still not convinced then be sure to stick around and as we show you the custom GTX 1070 Ti benchmarks that will help you decide which one you should buy.
We are going to tests the Asus ROG Strix GTX 1070 Ti, the Inno3D model and the Zotac AMP Extreme version. Keep in mind that these versions are restricted and will not be overclocked out of the box so you might get similar results but you can overclock these GPUs manually in order to get better performance for your money.
We are going to look at 5 games, The Witcher 3, Rise Of The Tombraider, Hitman, Doom and Fallout 4. We are going to see how well these graphics cards perform at 1440p and 4K as we already know that these cards can perform pretty well at 1080p and will give you 100+ FPS in these titles including the reference design model.
Custom GTX 1070 Ti Benchmarks: The Witcher 3
Let’s take a look at how well the Asus ROG Strix GTX 1070 Ti, the Inno3D model and the Zotac AMP Extreme version perform when playing The Witcher 3 at 1440p and 4K as compared to the reference design Nvidia GTX 1070 and the AMD Vega 56 and 64. Also, check out The Witcher 3 Xbox One X enhancements.
Custom GTX 1070 Ti Benchmarks: The Witcher 3 1440p
At 1440p the AMD Vega 64 comes out on top but the Asus custom GTX 1070 Ti is not far behind and neither are the other versions of the GPU. The Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti has been released in order to compete with the AMD Vega 56 and we can see here that all the versions perform better than the Vega 56.
Custom GTX 1070 Ti Benchmarks: The Witcher 3 4K
The same is the case at 4K. While the AMD Vega 64 comes out on top, the difference is not that great and all the version of the GTX 1070 beat the Vega 56.
Custom GTX 1070 Ti Benchmarks: Doom
Doom is a game that favors the AMD graphics cards so AMD Vega should have the upper hand here. Let’s see how well the custom GTX 1070 Ti graphics cards perform at 1440p and 4K when playing Doom. Also, check out Doom on the Nintendo Switch.
Custom GTX 1070 Ti Benchmarks: The Doom 1440p
It is not surprising to see that the AMD Vega graphics cards come out on top in Doom at 1440p. While the Vega 64 pulls away it is interesting to note that the Custom GTX 1070 Ti cards are not too far off from the performance of the AMD Vega 56.
Custom GTX 1070 Ti Benchmarks: The Doom 4K
Same is the case at 4K. The higher resolution closes the gap between the GPUs and we see that all the graphics cards except for the GTX 1070 are able to run the game at 4K 60 FPS.
Custom GTX 1070 Ti Benchmarks: Rise of the Tombraider
Rise of the Tombraider is a marvel and there is no surprise why people refer to this game when benchmarking new graphics cards and consoles. We recently talked about the game running on the Xbox One X and you can check that out here. Let’s see how well the GTX 1070 Ti runs the game at 1440p and 4K.
Custom GTX 1070 Ti Benchmarks: Rise of the Tombraider 1440p
It is interesting to see that the GTX 1070 Ti beats the AMD Vega 64 as well as the Vega 54. The margin between the 1070 Ti versions and the Vega 64 are not that big but the difference between the Nvidia cards and the Vega 56 is pretty significant.
Custom GTX 1070 Ti Benchmarks: Rise of the Tombraider 4K
At 4K the AMD Vega 64 comes back on top but the Asus version of the 1070 Ti matches the performance and the other versions are not far off either. At the higher resolution, all 1070 Ti models manage to beat the AMD Vega 56.
Custom GTX 1070 Ti Benchmarks: Fallout 4
Fallout 4 is another open world game and such games are taxing on the GPUs at higher resolutions. Let’s see how well AMD and Nvidia GPUs perform in Fallout 4 at 1440p as well as 4K. Word has it that the game will also be coming out for the Nintendo Switch.
Custom GTX 1070 Ti Benchmarks: Fallout 4 1440p
At 1440p the Vega 64 comes out on top but the difference as compared to the 1070 Ti models is not that huge and all of them beat the AMD Vega 56 at 1440p. Notice that the performace of these cards is greater than the GTX 1070 and as expected.
Custom GTX 1070 Ti Benchmarks: Fallout 4 4K
The same is the case at 4K, with the Vega 64 coming out on top but the difference is not a huge one. All 1070 Ti models beat the Vega 56 but not by a huge margin. The GTX 1070 is also very close when it comes to Fallout 4 and none of the graphics cards are able to run the game at 4K 60 FPS.
Custom GTX 1070 Ti Benchmarks: Hitman
Hitman is another game that favors AMD GPUs so it will not be surprising if AMD Vega GPUs come out on top. Let’s see how these GPUs perform in Hitman at 1440p as well as 4K. The Game of the Year edition of Hitman has also been announced.
Custom GTX 1070 Ti Benchmarks: Hitman 1440p
As expected the AMD Vega 64 and the Vega 56 come out on top and the difference is a noticeable one especially when looking at the AMD Vega 64 performance.
Custom GTX 1070 Ti Benchmarks: Hitman 4K
The story is pretty much the same at 4K as well. Only the AMD Vega 64 is able to run the game at 4K 60 FPS.
Overall the GTX 1070 Ti is a great graphics card and if you are looking for a model that will perform consistently across the board no matter which game it is then the best bet is the Asus version. Even if you do not want to pay the premium getting the cheapest GTX 1070 Ti custom model will get you enough performance to run almost every game at 1440p and most games at 4K as well.
