Crackdown 3 Play Anywhere Support Will Be Available On Release

The official Crackdown Twitter account confirmed that Crackdown 3 Play Anywhere support will be available with the game, meaning that it will be a part of the Xbox One’s Play Anywhere program. The program allows gamers to transfer their Xbox One games to their Windows 10 PCs, and vice-versa, quickly and easily.

Crackdown 3 is the long-awaited continuation of the Crackdown series, after the disappointment that was Crackdown 2. In the seven years since Crackdown 2’s release and Crackdown 3’s projected release, hopefully Reagent Games, the developers of Crackdown 3, have figured out what makes the game great, and can redeem what happened with Crackdown 2.

With Crackdown 3 Play Anywhere support, you can have both the Xbox One and the PC versions of the game, without having to pay for it twice. For instance, if you’ve heard that the game runs better on the PC and looks better too (not all that surprising considering how many gamers think PC games look and run the best out of every platform) you can switch the platform, no problem.

The ability of the game to look good and run better is even more important with the Microsoft Azure-powered destruction engine that Crackdown 3 will also be running with. This engine will be adding to the good old Crackdown destructive potential, as every single building in the game will be destructible.

Reagent Games has been working on this sort of destruction for a long time, and the huge amount of science that they’ve put into it can only really be seen in actual gameplay. Hopefully, we’ll be seeing some of that at the E3 conference this year.

The Crackdown 3 Play Anywhere support means that Crackdown 3 will be the latest game to be put into the program, which includes other games like Sea of Thieves, ReCore, Gears of War 4, and more. Crackdown 3 is slated to come out sometime this year.
