This Control Puzzle Solutions guide will provide the answers to all of the puzzles that you encounter during your playthrough of the action-adventure game Control.
Control Puzzle Solutions
When playing through the epic, Control, you would come across multiple puzzles. Some of these may be obvious while others would have few intricacies to them which you may just miss/
The puzzle changes every time you are staying in Oceanview Motel in control. The puzzle can be a bit daunting as nothing really appears to be off on the first look.
Use the bell to open up the doors. There is a room that seems completely normal with nothing to interact with and another where, although there is stuff present, it is unclear as what to do.
Look at the first room and then try to match its aspects with the second.
Everything in the second room needs to be interacted with except the chair which needs to be left pulled out. Now an eerie noise will ring out and you’ll know that the rooms match.
After this, a third door will then open which would contain the key that you need to open the Pyramid door back in the hallway where you entered.
Luck and Probability Puzzle
The office has quite many items that are interactable by the player.
The goal of this puzzle is to have the TV set next to the roulette table show the same number as does the roulette table i.e. 7.
This puzzle would also award you three ability points as well as the Golden Suit Outfit.
Now enter the room with the roulette table, there you would find a whiteboard. This board would list the items that need to be activated.
- Turn on all the desk lights.
- In the other room is a small plant. Take it and plant it on the white vase next to the TV set.
- Activate Newton’s cradles.
- Activate the beckoning cat.
- Ignore the horseshoe (if not required, else play with both positions, both might work)
- Pick up the fish with Launch and “drop” it next to the roulette table (optional step, may not be required)
- Interact with the roulette.
This is one of, if not the simplest puzzles that you would come across in Control. You just have to move the image until it aligns with the picture on the left.
Astral Spike Puzzle
The goal here is to trap the Astral Spike in the room behind it. Pick the crate and place it in the center of the room so it is easy to access.
Now throw the battery crate to the right of the door. Now make a run for it to the opposing side of the room.
Stand in the container until the spike enters, you need to lure and trap it inside here.
Make a run for it again exiting through the door you just entered and to the terminal where you will interact with the button.
A new door would open, enter it and interact with the marshall intercom.
Pull up your socks for an intense fight, now proceed to cleanse the control point.
This puzzle is a stepping block for getting through the Threshold mission. Use the launch ability to remove the crate from the socket, on left.
Now bring a crate with you as you jump across the stationary turbines and take the stairs to the right. Then you will come across another set of turbines.
Launch the crate into both sockets. This would power the door which you would now use to jump across. Finally, walk up the light switch and pull it three times.
HRA Machine Punch Card Puzzle
You’ll come across this puzzle during the Old Boys’ Club mission, and you’ll have to solve this puzzle to bring the HRA Machine back to life.
To get started, you need to collect 5 punch cards. Each of these punch cards will then go into five different terminals in a particular order to solve the puzzle.
One of the cards is located on the floor, two on a desk, one on a white box, and one on a window sill. The real puzzle begins once you’ve collected all five punch cards.
If you look around each terminal, you’ll find a number printed on it. Make your way to the first terminal. Now, have a look at the cards, and you’ll see all of them are shaded in a different pattern. Pick the one which has only the right side of the outer cube shaded. Insert it into the first machine.
Now, make your way to the second terminal. The card with its entire inner cube shaded will go into the second machine.
For the third machine, pick the card which has only one side of its inner cube shaded and the outer cube is unshaded.
Moving onto the fourth terminal, pick the card which has one of its inner cube sides shaded, and two of the outer cube sides shaded.
Once you’re done, there would be only one terminal and one card remaining. Plug in the last card in the fifth terminal and interact with the HRA Machine to complete the punch card puzzle.
Traverse the Ocean View Motel (My Brother’s Keeper)
During the My Brother’s Keeper mission, you’ll come across a painting that is upside down. Turn the painting until it’s facing up, and then head through the first door.
Pick up the keys on the table and make your way to the door that has a black pyramid on it. Pull the string to complete the puzzle.
Traverse the Ocean View Motel (Finnish Tango)
Ring the bell at the front desk until the second, and the third doors open up. They’ll have one radio each that you’ll have to turn on. Once you’re done, head through the first door and pick up the keys from the desk.
Next, head through the janitor’s door and pull the light switch to complete the puzzle.
Eternal Fire Puzzle
To complete this puzzle, you need to throw 6 TVs with a burning furnace picture into the trash.
The first TV is located in the furnace room and another one in a small room above it. Another TV is located near a pipe by the NSC Power Room. For the fourth location, head to the NSC Power Room, and you’ll find it on top of the central pillar.
The fifth TV is located in the NSC Coolant room and the last one by the entrance of the Furnace room, in a closet.
