“Combat Is Key” For Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, Prepare for Gameplay Livestream

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is set for an E3 2019  gameplay reveal. The publisher will show the game’s gameplay and combat footage but before the gameplay reveals, Respawn Entertainment has shared some tidbits about the Jedi Fallen Order combat system. According to game director Stig Asmussen, “combat is key.”

The development team is calling it “thoughtful combat” because the player must “identify and exploit [enemy] weaknesses.” The combat system uses lightsabers for the most part as melee combat is at the heart of Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order gameplay.

The team at Respawn is trying to create something unique for Star Wars fans. To deliver the best combat, narrative, and gameplay experience, Respawn Entertainment has hired some of the best developers from the industry.

The development team consists of developers who previously worked on games like Metal Gear, BioShock, Call of Duty, Uncharted, God of War, and Batman. The veterans have a solid vision for the new Star Wars game.

To say we’re a mash-up crew is an understatement, but everybody has a really high pedigree,” says Asmussen.“When I come into work every day and I feel the vibe and I feel the energy in the studio and I actually get my hands on the controller and I see that we’re making something that’s really, really fun it makes me feel great, it lets me know we’re on the right track, and
let me tell you I’m super-confident we’re onto something.

EA PLAY will be live Saturday, June 8 through Sunday, June 9. The event will not only focus on Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order gameplay and combat, but games like Battlefield, FIFA, NFL, and more will be there.

EA will announce its plans for the future of Anthem, the disgraced BioWare IP. At this point, Anthem is probably the most interesting part of EA PLAY. It would be interesting to see exactly what EA has to say about the sci-fi live-service RPG game.
