Code Vein PC is facing issues and errors like Unreal Process Crashed, no audio, game not launching and more. These are the fixes.

Code Vein has launched for PC and consoles. Despite being well optimized, Code Vein PC is facing issues and errors like Unreal Process Crashed, no audio, game not launching and more.

Here I have compiled a list of errors and issues that players are experiencing along with their fixes and workarounds.

Code Vein Audio Desync, Crash And Fixes

Code Vein is another one of those souls-like games but with a twist of anime. The PC version of Code Vein is pretty well optimized is well received by PC players. Despite that, it’s facing errors and issues like Unreal Process Crashed, audio desync, and more.

The following are the errors and issues that players are experiencing along with their possible fixes and workarounds.

Unreal Process Crashed Fix

This Code Vein error is popping up apparently due to the latest Nvidia driver. Just roll back to an older driver version and the game will be fine.

No Sound, Audio Desync Fix

Players have reported that they are facing audio issues with Code Vein like no audio or getting partial audio in-game and audio stuttering and then desyncing during cutscenes.

For the no sound or partial audio issue with Code Vein, the reason could be wrong audio channels selected for the game. Go to Control panel > Sound > Select your active audio device > click on “Configure” > select stereo and follow the setup.

If you still aren’t getting the audio, then disable Windows Sonic for Headphones if it’s enabled as it’s most likely the reason for the game being mute or having partial audio.

As for no audio stuttering and desyncing, this can be resolved by locking the game at 30 FPS. To do that, open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings. Select the game from the list and set Vertical Sync to “Adaptive half refresh rate”. Start the game and disable vertical sync.

dxgi_error_device_hung Fix

Players are reporting that Code Vein crashes while playing and they get the dxgi_error_device_hung error. This error is popping up due to GPU driver but this time, it’s because of an old driver version. Update your GPU driver and the issue will be resolved.

If the issue isn’t resolved then the cause of the error might be your GPU as it’s possible that the GPU isn’t able to handle the game. You can try and fix this by locking the game at 30 FPS.

Open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings. Select the game from the list and set Vertical Sync to “Adaptive half refresh rate”.

Crash Fix

According to players, Code Vein is either facing crashes at startup or just randomly crashing while playing. Here are a few fixes that will resolve these crashes.

For Code Vein randomly crashing while playing, go to your Steam library, right-click on the game and select properties. Select “set launch option”, paste “-notexturestreaming -useallavailablecores” and press OK.

Some players are facing crashes with the following error.

E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ CODE VEIN\CodeVein/Binaries/Win64/CodeVein-Win64-Shipping.exe”
CodeVein
CreateProcess() returned 2

This error is popping due to missing game’s exe file as your anti-virus software or Windows Defender is detecting it as a trojan. Fix this by disabling your anti-virus or making an exception for the exe file.

Game Not Launching, Crash At Startup Fix

One of the reasons for Code Vein to crash at launch is the use of third-party monitoring software like MSI Afterburner or GeForce Experience. Disable them and issue will be resolved.

If you are using MSI Afterburner and the game is still crashing at launch even after disabling it, just following the steps below.

  • Open RivaTuner Statistics Server(RTSS).
  • Click the Add button and navigate to the game’s folder.
  • Add Code Vein’s exe under Application profile properties.
  • Set Application detection level to None for the game application.

Another fix for this problem is to reinstall UE4 Prereq. For that, Go to Steam folder > Steamapps > Code Vein > Engine > Extras > Redist > en-us. Run UE4 Prereq Setup.exe. If it’s already installed then uninstall it and then reinstall.

Dual Monitor Fix

According to players with dual monitor setup, when they launch the game is displays on the secondary display. To Fix this go to your Steam library, right-click on the game and select properties. Select “set launch option” and paste ” -game -WinX=0 -WinY=0 -FULLSCREEN”. This will resolve the issue.

That is all for our Code Vein fixes for issues and errors like Unreal Process Crashed, crashes, no audio and more.
