CD Projekt Red Has Plans For The Witcher News Tomorrow, Possibly Unrelated To Gwent

Cd Projekt Red might just have been hiding some cool news from us all these months. The company is revealing now that tomorrow they’ll be sharing news for The Witcher franchise. This doesn’t look like Gwent news but… isn’t it too soon for Witcher 4?

According to The Witcher official Twitter profile, CD Projekt Red has some exciting news to share with us regarding the famous franchise. There’s a good reason to believe that this won’t be about Gwent since the company updates the game’s Twitter profile with posts separately. The announcement reads:

Kaer Morhen’s old stones have witnessed many battles… Once more they’ll feel the sting of sparks as blades collide… Check back tomorrow.

As the company has announced before, The Witcher franchise is currently on ice – at least until Cyberpunk 2077 release – and they only have plans for Gwent for the moment. However, the post mentioned above is a bit cryptic. Kaer Morhen is the place where Witchers get trained in the franchise, a place that hasn’t been already included in Gwent. So what we are looking at here is either a Gwent expansion revolving Kaer Morhen (which seems unlikely due to the reason mentioned above) or a new addition to the franchise maybe?

Let’s be realistic, CD Projekt Red can’t be already announcing The Witcher 4. There’s little chance for a spin-off title or another expansion for The Witcher 3. What looks like a good possibility is Geralt being announced as a playable character in SoulCalibur VI and Kaer Morhen being a stage in the game. If that’s the case then we’ll be extremely disappointed but we’ll be fair. Seeing Geralt in Soul Calibur with his dance fighting moves looks like a good deal.

For what it’s worth, we’ll stay tuned for the news coming tomorrow and get back to you as soon as an announcement has been made.
