E3 2019, one of the biggest gaming events of the year, will happen almost two weeks from now. A huge amount of fans are looking forward to CD Projekt Red’s E3 2019 Cyberpunk 2077 presentation.
One of the biggest questions regarding Cyberpunk 2077 is whether or not players will be able to mod the game. Yesterday, CD Projekt Red community lead offered some clarification regarding Cyberpunk 2077’s modding support.
Everyone wants to know Cyberpunk 2077’s release date along with its gameplay of course. Even though new information can be expected at E3 2019, CD Projekt Red has also been giving out information to keep the hype going.
Yesterday, CD Projekt Red’s global community lead Marcin Momot, offered clarification. Momot replied to a post made on CDPR’s forum, asking if Cyberpunk 2077 will feature modding.
I wanted to elaborate on this topic and on that answer in particular. We have no plans to share at the moment. Obviously, we would love to support the modding community in the future, but for the time being, we want to focus on releasing the game first. Hopefully, this clears things up a bit.
Basically, what this means is that the majority of CDPR’s focus is towards making the game as perfect as possible. Cyberpunk 2077’s development is in its last stages. CDPR has already said that “this E3 is the most important one yet”. They clearly want to make it right.
But that doesn’t mean that Cyberpunk 2077 will never have mods. All hope isn’t lost just yet. It is likely CD Projekt Red will add modding support later down the road. They might even officially announce Cyberpunk 2077’s modding support when they feel confident that the game is developed enough.
Just quite recently, CD Projekt Red’s CFO Piotr Nielubowicz said that Cyberpunk 2077’s development “is proceeding at full speed.” If there is going to be an announcement, the best time for CD Projekt Red will be at E3 2019.
In short: Fans will have to sit tight and wait for an official announcement. CDPR has neither confirmed nor denied Cyberpunk 2077’s modding support. So look forward to CD Projekt Red’s E3 2019 conference for info regarding Cyberpunk 2077’s release date and modding support.
