CD Projekt Red Explains How Cyberpunk 2077 Weapons Work

One of the things we were stunned about while watching the recently revealed Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay video, is that segment where V gets a bullet tracking weapon and uses it to annihilate enemies. As cool as that seems, the concept behind Cyberpunk 2077 weapons is even cooler.

Weapon aiming in Cyberpunk 2077 is all about the augmentations on your character. A good weapon is nothing more than its damage if it’s not accompanied with an eye sensor or a zoom prosthetic. During a recent Q&A, CD Projekt Red’s Kyle Rowley pointed out the significance of body alterations to the guns’ use:

Of course, there’s more than meets the eye regarding Cyberpunk 2077 weapons. The depth of customization and creativity to make your own guns and use them according to your playstyle is essential. That’s why CD Projekt RED keeps on pointing out how Cyberpunk 2077 is an RPG at first and then an FPS title:

There’s still no release date for Cyberpunk 2077 and it seems like it will be long before we get one. While the developers were eager to show us the first bits of gameplay that doesn’t mean the game is completed and changes are still being made to the game as we speak.

Are you excited about the level of detail put into Cyberpunk 2077? Do you think it can define the RPG genre if it comes up to be as good as it looks?
