Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Minimum PC Specs Revealed

Treyarch have posted an update from Gamescom 2015 for PC fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. Not only providing some details of features that will be coming to this version of the game, most importantly they have revealed the minimum system specs to be able to run it.

To run Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, your system will need at least:

Operating System: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit / Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Processor: Intel Core i3-530 @ 2.93 GHz / AMD Phenom II X4 810 @ 2.60 GHz

Memory: 6 GB RAM

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 @ 1GB / ATI Radeon HD 6970 @ 1GB

DirectX: Version 11

Network: Broadband Internet connection

Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

Unlike some other recent releases these specs aren’t highly demanding, and you won’t need a very powerful graphics card to run it. What we don’t know though are the recommended specs. It is fair to say though that if your computer can easily match the specs above you should be safe.

Noticeable by its absence in the Operating System list is Windows 10, hopefully this won’t be an issue. The amount of memory is also interesting. As 8GB is now the standard for most gaming machines hopefully this won’t be an issue. I’m sure people with 4GB will still give it a try anyway.

As well as the specs, Teyarch also revealed new features coming to the PC version of the game:

  • 100% Ranked Dedicated Servers
  • 2-Player Split Screen
  • Seamless Game Controller Support
  • Strong GPU scaling, SLI and Crossfire Optimizations, and 4K monitor support make the game look and run great at full 4K resolution
  • FOV Slider
  • Framerate Cap Slider
  • Improved Text Chat features available in-game and also now in lobbies.
  • Steam Trading Cards
  • Treyarch Anti-Cheat (TAC)

Most noticeable here is the flexibility with GPU scaling and 4K monitor support. The game controller support is also an interesting inclusion, but I doubt many PC players will use one. Maybe it will come in use with the 2-player split screen option.
