Call of Duty: WW2 Patch Nerfs The BAR; Its Still Powerful, But Now Has More Recoil

In FPS titles weapon balance is the beginning and the end of its smooth gameplay. Since Call of Duty: WW2 launch, fans have been discussing about how overpowered the M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle is. Sledgehammer now reveals that a big Call of Duty: WW2 Patch is coming, nerfing the BAR and restoring the game’s balance.

As many Call of Duty fans may admit, the BAR has awfully good accuracy and can kill with only three or four rounds, making it one of the two most powerful assault rifles in the game. If you want to know just how overpowered the M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle is you can check the WW2 In Depth: BAR Assault Rifle Review of Youtuber Drift0r.

As of today, after Sledgehammer’s latest patch, the recoil of the BAR has been increased making it less stable when shooting resulting in fewer 3-shot-kills. This makes the M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle a bit more balanced but that doesn’t mean it’s useless now. It’s still a really powerful assault rifle, but killing doesn’t feel like cheating anymore.

Snaking, which is a form of movement that allows players to go in and out of prone very quickly, making it more difficult for them to get shot was also nerfed today, so you’ll experience some minor changes when you play against veterans in Call of Duty: WW2.

In related news, Sledgehammer Games has detailed the upcoming Call of Duty: WW2 events. One of the Call of Duty: WW2 events is the extended double XP weekend which starts today and will continue until November 27, 6 pm UK, 7 pm CET.

Following the double XP event, Sledgehammer Games intends to start Winter Siege event on December 8. Ranked play will start on December 1 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, however, there is no word of Ranked Play for PC.
