Call Of Duty Modern Warfare Trailer Shows A Very Different Story

The new Call of Duty Modern Warfare trailer shows a very different story from the original game, appearing to focus greatly on counterterrorism.

Ever since Activision revealed that the next Call of Duty game would be a new Modern Warfare game, speculation abounded. However, the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare trailer released today paints what appears to be a very different story from the original games, especially according to blurbs about its plot.

The original Modern Warfare games from the very beginning were about rapidly escalating tensions (and eventually war) between the West and a Russia dominated by Ultranationalists bent on reclaiming their former glory.

The new Call of Duty Modern Warfare trailer though seems to show a game much more focused on terrorism, especially since blurbs prior to the reveal said that the game would be more focused on Modern Warfare 2’s controversial “No Russian” level.

That level focused around an Ultranationalist terrorist attack at an airport, and caused a great deal of controversy over the prospect of young people gunning down hundreds of helpless civilians. We get to see some stuff like this in the trailer, with terrorists on the streets of a city firing into cars.

Even if it won’t have a massive fictional war happening like the original Modern Warfare games, players may be expecting a much darker story, even for a series like Call of Duty, where civilians are caught in the crossfire of appalling violence.

Along with the Call of Duty Modern Warfare trailer, players can expect a surprising amount of improvement from Activision, such as having microtransactions, but also having free DLC, and even cross-platform play between consoles and PCs.

Either way, hopefully E3 will have more about the new Call of Duty game at one of its conferences, including what people care about the most: gameplay. Otherwise, you can look forward to the game coming out on October 25 for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC. You can see the game’s trailer by following this link.
