A new leak from GameStop has suggested that we’ll likely be seeing Boba Fett in Battlefront 2 as a villain hero, much like the previous game. Fett will likely be playing one of the powered-up hero units that players will be able to get during gameplay, though we don’t know for sure.
GameStop leaked Fett’s possible inclusion into the game through its merchandise, a paintball gun and accompanying mask that were colored like Fett’s signature Mandalorian armor.
Boba Fett, along with Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine, were the three “villainous” hero units in the previous Battlefront, siding with the Empire against other Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Leia Organa, the three main Rebellion heroes.
Both sides were eventually joined by other heroes as the game’s run continued, and in turn they’ll be joined by even more in the upcoming Battlefront game. The new heroes will be a varied group, ranging from Yoda and Rey to Darth Maul and Kylo Ren, with possibly more coming including, hopefully, Boba Fett in Battlefront 2.
Considering that all three eras of the Star Wars movie franchise will be available to play through in the new Battlefront, it wouldn’t really make sense for DICE to get rid of one of Star Wars’s most popular characters to make room for others.
Considering that in Battlefront 2 heroes are apparently going to be given a re-work to be less powerful than they were in the original game, some players might want all of the heroes that they can get to try and keep the edge up when the game releases.
Hopefully we will actually see Boba Fett in Battlefront 2 when the game comes out, and we might even get to see him when the game gets another trailer, hopefully at the EA press conference at this year’s E3. We’ll have to see.
