Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is still not available for Kickstarter backers in Japan. For those who don’t know, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night released in North America on June 18 for the PC platform.
As reported by users on Reddit, Bloodstained Kickstarter is sort of screwing Japanese backers of the game. Everyone was expecting to receive the game in Japan shortly after its release in NA but it’s now going to take months.
According to the latest update on the game’s Kickstarter page, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will release in September 2019 and it is expected to be delayed further. What’s more disappointing is the fact that digital download version of the game in Japan will also not be available until the game’s physical release date.
To address the issue, 505 Games is giving away Steam Keys but Japanese backers of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night are not happy because most of them backed the game for consoles like Sony’s PS4 and Microsoft Xbox One. A Reddit user mentioned that the game runs very poor on his low spec PC despite the developer’s claim that the game can even run on a potato PC.
Now we don’t see a reason why 505 Games is simply not handing out console keys to the backers in Japan. In addition to this, players who played the game’s NA version have confirmed that it comes with complete Japanese language support.
Since the game is playable with the Japanese language, it would be better and simple for 505 Games to give console backers a code of different region instead of a Steam code.
The developer says that they are sending a survey to all Japan digital and physical backers, allowing them to choose a “North American (NA) digital copy of the game instead of waiting for their JP version in September”.
The options that will be offered by the developer is as follows.
- $28 digital JP can be changed to $28 digital NA (base game)
- $60+ digital JP can be changed to $60+ digital NA (game plus digital extras)
- $60+ physical JP can be changed to $60+ digital NA (game plus digital extras)
Once the survey is completed, the developer will count the total number of people that want to take advantage of the above offers. Afterward, the developer will start sending out NA-region codes of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night to Japan Backers. It’s going to take some time so have some patience.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night developed by ArtPlay is now available in NA on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
A major Bloodstained update is expected to arrive next week which will fix most of the issues and bugs that players are encountering on Switch, Xbox One, and PS4. Bloodstained patch notes for the upcoming update are now available.
