Black Ops 3 Storyline is All About Cybernetics and Ground Warfare

A limited Multiplayer Beta? Check. 4-Player co-op campaign? Check. Zombies Mode? Check. A redesigned Multiplayer Mode? Check. We already know quite a lot about Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 with the exception of the Singleplayer Campaign.

By connecting various odds and ends from trailers, screenshots, and editorials; we think we have figured out the story a little. Here goes:

We already know from the trailer that the game takes place in 2060 or somewhere near the time which is thirty-five years after the events of Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

The year 2060 marked the creation of Directed Energy Air Defense or D.E.A.D.; a new technology used by many countries to put an end to aerial warfare; forcing countries to rely on ground warfare.

In the wake of D.E.A.D., someone came up with the idea of Direct Neural Interface or D.N.I. which linked the human brain to cybernetics, creating a sort of a super soldier with superhuman strength and abilities.

The super soldiers work kind of exactly like Advanced Warfare soldiers, but without exo-suits. The soldiers can transform themselves into weapons at will and carry a large arsenal which can change the face of humanity once and for all.

So far this is the only thing we are aware of, but hopefully we will hear more at the upcoming Entertainment Expo in June 2015.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is scheduled to launch on Nov. 6, 2015 for PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. Players who pre-order the game shall participate in the game’s upcoming Multiplayer Beta.
