We May Finally Learn About Beyond Good and Evil 2 Release Date At Ubisoft Experience Sydney [Update]

During Ubisoft Experience, Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be making its Australian debut and fans will be finally learning more information about the game such as its platforms and release date.

Update: Ubisoft has confirmed to us that there won’t be a release date announcement at the event

Not a lot is known about Beyond Good and Evil 2’s release date and its development stage at this point. Of course, there’s a lot of speculation about the game but not a lot of solid information is known. It seems that fans may finally be learning more about the Beyond Good and Evil 2 soon as the game is set to appear at the ‘Ubisoft Experience’ event in Sydney.

The first Beyond Good & Evil was released back in the golden days of gaming in 2003. It was an action-adventure video game developed and published by Ubisoft for the PlayStation 2, PC, Xbox, and GameCube platforms. Although Beyond Good and Evil was critically praised and gained a cult following due to its story and gameplay, the game was considered to be a commercial failure since it didn’t manage to do well in the market.

We got a heavy teaser for a sequel towards the end of the game but then BGE went silent and there was no sequel. However, in 2007, we started hearing rumors about Ubisoft working on Beyond Good and Evil 2. In 2008 and 09, we got two trailers for what appeared to be a proper Beyond Good and Evil 2, showcasing the graphical capabilities of that era (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3).

In 2016, we got a few leaks and rumors suggesting that Ubisoft’s development on Beyond Good and Evil 2 had gone cold and was put on hold. But then in 2017, Ubisoft officially announced the game and confirmed its existence. At E3 2017, we even got its first official trailer. Ubisoft also confirmed that Beyond Good and Evil 2 would be a massive change in direction from the first game and would be a prequel instead of a sequel.

However, there was and still is, a lot of missing pieces in the puzzle. Ubisoft didn’t officially announce which platforms Beyond Good and Evil 2 would release on. However, Michel Ancel told Kotaku that the game was designed to run on many platforms. Beyond Good and Evil 2’s release date also remains a complete mystery.

But after all this wait. After all these leaks, rumors, speculation, and secrecy, we are finally going to be learning more about Beyond Good and Evil 2. Ubisoft Experience—a convention hosted by Ubisoft annually—is set to take place in Sydney, Australia soon.

During Ubisoft Experience, Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be making its Australian debut and fans will be finally learning more information about the game such as its platforms and release date.

So that is something definitely worth looking forward to. Right now, the official dates and schedule for Ubisoft Experience Sydney haven’t been announced yet. If you want more information about the event, visit their website here.
