When it comes to weapon selection in any FPS game, one should always choose the weapon that suits one’s gameplay.If we have basic idea about all the available weapons in the game,we can easily select the one that suits our gameplay style.
Many out there might still be confused about the weapon selection in recently released FPS thriller Battlefield:Bad Company 2. Well, If you are one of those out there you can read the strengths and weakness of all the weapons available in BFBC2 multiplayer to have an idea.
Note:All the weapons won’t be available from the very beginning as you will have to unlock them by earning experience in the game.

Assault Class Weapons
Assault weapons are good for those who like to play safe and shoot from distance.These weapons are good at long range (range is lesser than the sniper rifles).Some of them are accurate with less damage while others have more damage with more recoil. Lets see what sort of Assault rifles are included in BFBC 2
AEK971
This Russian Assault weapon is available from the start.It is fully automatic assault rifle with recoil dampers.This weapon has become the standard weapon of Russian army. Here are it’s stats:

In short it’s an alternate for old Ak-47.
M16
This American assault rifle is famous for its accuracy and 3 round burst.It’s a classic weapon useful for players having patience and nerves of steel.You will need 47,000 assault points to unlock this weapon.

Rate of Fire – 17/22
M416
Its a fully automatic assault rifle more or less an upgrade of old M16 and M4 rifles.It has more damage than M16 but less accurate, all you need is 30000 assault points to unlock this weapon.

AN94
Its another Russian semi-automatic rifle with 2 round burst.Weapon is famous among many special forces of Russia.28000 assault points are needed to unlock this weapon.Its stats are similar to that of M416.

Xm8
A fully-automatic experimental weapon of US army.This weapon resembles more or less G36 of Germany.You only need 3000 assault points to unlock this fancy weapon.

F2000
Its a Belgian assault rifle with various customizing options.Can fire faster than any other assault rifles in the game.8000 assault points are needed to unlock it.

Although this weapon facilitates mobility but its accuracy is lesser than other assault rifles.If you like to rush through the battlefield with an assault weapon in your hand than you may like this weapon more than the others.

Engineer Class Weapons
Engineers play important role as they can repair the damaged vehicles with their skills.Following weapons are available in engineer class:
9A-91 Avtomat
This weapon is available from the start. Its a fully automatic Carbine weapon with more stopping power than any other 9mm. Not suggested for long range assault.

SCAR
It’s a fully-automatic light weight sub machine gun. It is SMG so comes with the improved mobility and 3200 engineer points are needed to unlock this weapon.
AKS-740
It’s the short version of the AEK, useful at short range but not good for long range shooting.Need 6500 points to unlock this one.

Accuracy – 13/22
Rate of Fire – 15/22
X8-Compact
Its a compact version of the XM8 rifle. This weapon basically has been designed for personal defense only.You need 6500 points to unlock this weapon.
Uzi
Uzi is a famous weapon in SMG category.It’s high fire rate and descent stopping power makes it a formidable short range weapon. 26000 engineer points are needed to unlock this weapon.

Accuracy – 9/22
Rate of Fire – 19/22
UMP.45
Its an accurate SMG slightly more damage than Uzi. It can be useful in crowded areas of the map, 43000 points are needed for its unlock.
PP-2000
Its a modern Russian SMG and has the highest fire rate in the game(even more than Uzi), 32000 points are needed for its unlock.

Recon Class Weapons
Weapons belonging to this class are usually long range weapons like snipers.
Type 88 Sniper
This semi-automatic rifle is usually equipped with red dot sight for accurate mid range shooting.You need 2200 recon points to unlock this weapon.

Rate of Fire – 6/22
SV98 Snaiperskaya
This Russian rifle with scope is an effective for long range targets.6000 recon points are needed to unlock this weapon.

GOL Sniper Magnum
This highly accurate and reliable rifle is available in a wide range of configurations.This bolt action sniper has been used by German police.You need 21000 recon points to unlock this rifle.Full marks for its stopping power and accuracy.

M24 Sniper
Its another bolt action sniper rifle available from the start.It has descent accuracy can be effective for long range kills.

M95 Sniper
Its a bolt action version of the M82A1 weapon with reduced size.Its smaller size makes this weapon preferable as mobility of the unit increases compared to other weapons.You need 34000 recon points to unlock this weapon.
SVU Snaiperskaya Short
This is a shorter version of old SV98.Its a silenced weapon with lesser damage but increased fire rate.You need 15000 recon points to unlock this weapon.

VSS Vintores
Its a light weight sniper rifle with a sound suppressor.It has high penetration power inspite of being light weight, 26000 recon points are needed to unlock this weapon.

Medic Class Weapons
Are you a good healer?If yes then you should be interested in the following weapons available in medic class. Obviously medics too can’t move in the battlefield without any weapons.Can they?
Type 88 LMG
Since its LMG, mobility with this weapon is slow.It has a descent range with considerable stopping power.8600 medic points is its price in the game.

Its a LMG version of German G36.It is equipped with red dot sight and drum magazine for faster reloading, 42000 points are needed for it’s unlock.

This Russian high calibre machinegun is famous for its power and reliability and is unlocked from the beginning.
