Battalion 1944 Errors, Crashes ad Fixes

Battalion 1944 has come out of the early access and launched for PC. However, PC players have reported a lot of issues for the game and here we will discuss all of these errors and issues and will provide a possible workaround for it too.

Stuttering And Freezing Randomly
Some PC gamers have been experiencing the game freezing randomly and sometimes the game starts to stutter. The issue is related to the game’s texture streaming and the solution for this issue is quite simple.

The issue is caused by the game’s texture streaming, just go to the setting and select “Video” and enable “Texture Streaming” option and the issue should resolve.

Pink Screen And Screen Flickering
This is another one of the Battalion 1944 errors that players have been experiencing. While the devs are working to resolve the issue but there are a couple of workarounds for this particular problem.

The solution is quite simple, just run the game in Borderless Windowed Mode and the issue should resolve. However, due to the pink screen, some might not be able to change it through in-game setting and for that there is another solution.

The second method to resolve the issue is to navigate to the game’s install folder and look for “default.config file”. Open this file and change “displayMode” to 1 which will make the game run in fullscreen borderless mode and the issue should resolve.

Also, the PInk screen issue could also be resolved through Nvidia control panel if you are using a Nvidia GPU. Open up Nvidia Control Panel and select “Change Resolution” under “Display”. Here check the “Use Nvidia Color Setting” and select the “Highest (32-Bit)” for Desktop Color depth and the issue should never bother you again.

Black Screen
Some PC players have been reporting that they are experiencing Black Screen Issue when they run the game but, the sound is working fine.

One of the reasons why this issue has popped up for you might be game’s default resolution being higher than you Monitor’s native resolution.

Now there are two ways to do it. The first method is to run the game and when the black screen appears just press “ALT + Enter” this will make the game run in Windowed Mode. Just go the video settings and change the resolution to your monitor’s native resolution and you will be able to play the game in Fullscreen and the issue should resolve.

If this method doesn’t work for you then open up the config file for the game in the game’s folder and manually change the height and width to match your native resolution and the issue should resolve.

Another reason for this issue might be the outdated drivers for your GPU. Just update your drivers to the latest version or at least update to Game Ready driver for Battalion 1944, as the game ready drivers bring game-specific optimizations which might resolve the issue.

FPS Drop, Stuttering, Bad Performance
Another one of the Battalion 1944 Errors players have been experiencing is the game poor performance with FPS dropping even on a GTX 1080ti.

There are a couple of reasons for this issue. The first reason for this issue might be the game’s “Texture Streaming”, just go to the game’s video settings and enable the “Texture Streaming” option and this should resolve the stuttering and FPS drop issue. But, on slower RPM HDDs, this solution could cause more stuttering.

However, if this doesn’t work for you then the culprit might be the outdated GPU drivers. Just update your drivers to the latest version or at least update to the Game Ready Driver for the game as it brings Battalion 1944 specific optimizations which might just improve the game’s performance.

Also, the developers have recommended to not use HDDs to play the game but an SSD as the game will quickly load files and will reduce stuttering.

Microsoft VC Redistributable Issues
Some PC users have been experiencing the issue that when they launch the game, its stuck at Microsoft VC Redistributable installation. The solution to this problem is easy the only thing you need to do is install it manually.

Just go to the game’s installation folder and look for support folder there will be setup for DirectX and Microsoft VC. Just install it and the issue should resolve and you should be able to play the game.

Mouse Sensitivity Not Changing
This is another one of the Battalion 1944 errors and issues that players have been experiencing. Many players have reported that they are unable to change moue sensitivity as when they hit “Apply” it reverts back to 0.

There is a workaround for this issue that might just work. Just to the game’s install folder and open the Config file and look for MouseSensitivity and change it to the level of your liking. Also, before you change the setting, make sure that the config file is not read-only.

First, right-click on Config file and at the bottom see if the box for Read-Only is checked or not. If it is checked, then uncheck it and then follow the above steps to change sensitivity. This should resolve the sensitivity issue.

Long Loading Times
This not a common error but still it is persisting for some users. This issue might be related to your hard drive. Make sure there is no unnecessary program running in the background that might use your HDD.

Open up Task Manager and open up processes and see if there is a process using too much of your HDD and if there is then terminate the program.

Error 1101 and 1103
Other common errors among the Battalion 1944 players are Error 1101 and Error 1103.

Error 1101 is shown when there is a buffer overflow when you are trying to connect to the host of the server and Error 1103 happens when the connection with your host has been lost.

There are two simple fixes for these errors:

Uninstall your game through Steam and make sure you delete all of the content from the folder where the game was installed in. Install the game again and run the game. From the Settings menu, go to the Graphics settings and enable Texture Streaming.

If the above solution does not work, disconnect your Faceit account when playing the game. Doing this will probably fix the issue
