New Baldur’s Gate 3 Trailer Released By Larian Studios, The Rumors Are True

A new Baldur's Gate 3 trailer has been released, confirming rumors that Larian Studios is developing a third entry into the classic PC series.

A while ago, a rumor began to circulate that Larian Studios, the developers of the Divinity: Original Sin series, where making a new Baldur’s Gate game. Now, a new Baldur’s Gate 3 trailer has been released days before E3, answering the prayers of many fans of the series that have been waiting.

Baldur’s Gate takes place in the Forgotten Realms setting of Dungeons and Dragons, on the world of Faerun. Twice now, players have taken on the role of a hero to save the world from a great evil, and the new trailer is no different…though it is a great deal more horrifying.

Any Dungeons and Dragons player is likely familiar with mind flayers, octopus-headed beings that eat brains and live in the subterranean realm known as the Underdark. The Baldur’s Gate 3 trailer shows the mind flayers in action, specifically how they reproduce.

In the trailer we see a member of the Flaming Fist mercenary company staggering through the devastated city of Baldur’s Gate, spitting out teeth and vomiting blood as his face contorts, his skin blackens, and his eyes change, until finally he has turned into a mind flayer himself, joining the hordes of them floating ominously above the city.

While the Baldur’s Gate 3 trailer doesn’t give us a release date or when the game will come out, it will likely be similar to the original two Baldur’s Gate games, coming out exclusively on the PC. It will be available both from Steam and Google’s upcoming Stadia service.

We don’t know what the game is really about, either, though it’s likely something to do with the mind flayers. If you wish to see the teaser for yourself, you can follow the link above, and if you’re a Baldur’s Gate fan who’s been waiting for this, whether because you’re an old hat or got into it with the Enhanced Editions, stay tuned to our website for more information, coming soon.
