New Information Leaks About Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Back at E3 2021, Ubisoft unveiled Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, an open-world game based in the universe of James Cameron’s blockbuster science fiction hit. Now, some new information about the game has been leaked, showing off a number of different combat styles along with some info about the plot.

The main story of James Cameron’s Avatar movies are mainly about the Na’vi, the native inhabitants of the jungle moon of Pandora, defending their home and way of life from resource-hungry humans. According to the leak, the story of the game seems to be following that trend, and they even describe it as a copy-and-paste job.

Along with the story, we do at least know the obvious, that players will have a wide-open area of Pandora to explore in the game. The leaker’s Twitter post also gave us a few indications of things like combat styles. Players will be able to use weapons like bows and spears, or assault rifles and shotguns, to fight enemies. There will also be aerial combat.

The game will also, unfortunately, have monetization and microtransactions, as these sorts of games normally do. According to the leaker that got the information, Frontiers of Pandora will also have a season pass, a welcome pass, and currency packs, so we can likely expect a lot of weapons and costumes that can’t be earned normally.

Considering that there hasn’t been very much news on Frontiers of Pandora since its E3 announcement, it’s good to at least get some form of information, though as a leak its accuracy can still be debated. Since James Cameron himself is apparently satisfied with the developers, we at least know it’ll hopefully be just as visually stunning as the movies.

Alongside the obvious open world and the different combat styles, players can likely expect to run into more of the sort of vibrant flora and fauna that Cameron and his team made in order to make the world of Pandora come alive. But of course, the game’s reception all depends on a number of other factors rather than it just looking pretty.

We still have no idea of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora’s specific release date other than a nebulous window of sometime in the 2023-2024 fiscal year, but we do know that it will be releasing on Xbox Series X, PC, and Playstation 5 exclusively.
