A new video has been released by Ubisoft that shows off how the Assassin’s Creed: Origins combat has been changed compared to the combat in other Assassin’s Creed games. Along with the world and mission setups, combat is one of the many things being changed for Origins when it releases.
Formerly, combat in Assassin’s Creed games has been stupidly simple for the most part. While it looked different due to the different eras and the different combat styles of your characters, the combat essentially revolved around you waiting for an enemy to attack, countering, and then killing them with that counter.
In Assassin’s Creed: Origins combat, players that try and play the combat similarly to previous Assassin’s Creed games will be at a big disadvantage. Now, players will have to keep some form of situational awareness and will have to dodge, parry, block, and counter as necessary rather than just waiting to counter as the enemies dance around you.
There are going to be a large number of different weapons available in Assassin’s Creed: Origins, ranging from swords to short swords to spears to bows to clubs to sickle swords, not to mention other equipment that Bayek, the protagonist, is going to have. So, with all of those weapons, there are also a lot of different fighting styles that you’ll be using.
With all of the different combat styles in Assassin’s Creed: Origins combat, there’s going to be a lot of different ways for you to kill your targets and the various bandits that are scattered around the deserts of Egypt.
Assassin’s Creed: Origins is going to be coming out on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC on October 27 of this year, so if you want to get it and see how Ubisoft has changed the combat and everything else that has been altered in the game, you’ll be able to see it in late October.
