The first full-fledged trailer for the upcoming standalone Aquaman movie in the DC Extended Universe will not be releasing for another month at the very least.

According to a new report from Revenge of the Fans earlier today, sources close to the matter have confirmed that the first footage from the project is scheduled to drop at WonderCon 2018 next month. That being said, there is the possibility that the trailer might be released online a bit earlier than when the annual fan-convention opens its doors to the public.

It was a couple of weeks back when there was word that the first trailer for Aquaman would be premiering very soon. However, director James Wan was quick to pass this as a mere rumor. He, though, is yet to do the same for the latest speculated date for the trailer debut.

WonderCon 2018 will take place between March 23 – March 25 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. It might be coincidental but Warner Bros. has some manner of love for this time frame when it comes to the DCEU. Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice opened in theaters on March 25, 2016; the first trailer for Justice League was released on March 25, 2017; and Wonder Woman received new footage at Wondercon last year.

Aquaman will be set after the events of Justice League and center on Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) as he takes on the responsibilities of the throne of Atlantis and protect his underwater kingdom from arch-nemesis Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II).

The other confirmed cast features Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, and Dolph Lundgren as Nereus.

Aquaman is scheduled to open in theaters on December 21, 2018. It may prove to be a turning point for the DCEU as an early test screening is said to have been received with incredible positive reactions.
