A Twitter user has reportedly uncovered a reference to a possible ‘Flamethrower’ and a ‘Remote Turret’ by looking in the game’s files. The weapon addition that could be coming soon to Apex Legends.

Ever since its release on February 4th, Apex Legends has quickly become one of the world’s most popular Battle Royale games. As of now, it has 50 million active users playing the game.
With a massive player base of 50 million, it’s a no-brainer that players will end up snooping around, and that’s exactly what happened.

The Twitter user by the username of @AustinScriver has uncovered a reference within the game’s code to a possible Flamethrower along with a Remote Turret. Although the reference is very vague and it isn’t clear what that could represent in the game, it hasn’t stopped players for speculating.

Player theories suggest that the Flamethrower could possibly be used to deal massive amounts of damage by setting the enemy on fire. It’s entirely possible that this can not only deal immediate damage but could also continue to deal damage if the enemy remains on fire. Another possibility is that the Flamethrower could be used to take down a massive group of enemies simultaneously.

Right now, it isn’t clear if the flame-shooting gun can be picked up from floor loot or Supply Crates, or if it will be used as an ability for an upcoming Legend.

The other weapon referenced in Respawn’s Battle Royale game is the ‘Remote Turret’. It is very likely that players will be able to be place down The Remote Turret as extra firepower while in a gunfight, or from defense against enemies who are trying to attack their position.

This is not the first time this has happened, lots of players try to find these types of references in new patches, updates, old library files, and unused resources within the game. Recent datamining leaks also suggested that wall-running might be coming soon as there is a reference to wall-running within the game’s files.

There is no official news regarding these weapons, it’s possible that could release as a part of Apex Legends Season 1, which is rumored to kick off later in March.

Apex Legends is battle royale game by Respawn Entertainment for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
