One of the biggest “features” of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is that it drops players in the middle of everything and expects them to figure out gameplay mechanics on their own, just like they would in real life. One such feature is mating and our Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey guide will help you in understanding the process to continue the evolution of the apes.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Mating
You are going to encounter many scenarios in the game that includes fighting the enemies, or female apes dying, which will lead to extinction. Even if you reach the second generation but without kids, it will be utterly useless as there is going to be no evolution. You need to have an abundance of kids in order to evolve.
Now, for having kids in the game the first step that you have to take is to pair up one female and male together. When you will approach the respective partner, you are going to analyze them and see that whether or not the female is fertile.
You start the bonding by going over to the mate and pressing the grooming option. You need to be aware of the audio cues at this point. The audio cues will provide you with the information on when to stop grooming. Make sure not to overdo it as it will cause in the loss of connection. Once you stop grooming, later you will be restarting the grooming again to complete the process. You have to do this until your bonding meter is full.
Once the bonding meter is full you are going to receive a message of the formation of the couple. In case that your grooming is going perfectly but no bonding meter appears, then that means that either you are related to that mate or you are already bonded to it.
If the couple is formed, you have to find a pile of leaves which is going to be your bed. If you don’t have it then you can make it up piling up the leaves together. Now go and lie down alone on the pile of leaves and call for you mate. Once it arrives, your camera is going to turn away for a few moments and then return to where it was before.
Once you are told that there is a New Pregnancy, before conceiving it, you should pair up more apes as conceiving only yours will take you 15 months ahead and only one baby will come out through this process. If you pair up more apes and go through multiple pregnancies at the same time, then this will cause multiple babies to come out in the same span of time. The more babies you have in your clan, the more evolution will it cause.
