AMD has been giving quite a competition to Intel with its latest line of processors and APUs and the company is showing no signs of slowing down as the company has revealed that its next-gen AMD Zen 2 CPU design is complete and will roll out in 2019.

During the recent earnings call for the company, AMD CEO Lisa Su noted to the investors that AMD Zen 2 CPU design architecture has been completed and “will be sampling to our customers later this year”.

Also, the company has noted that Zen 2 Architecture will be immune to Spectre and Meltdown security flaws, Not only that, the company is confident that ZEN 2 CPUs will not only be immune to these flaws but we be secure from any potential security exploit in the future.

Longer term, we have included changes in our future processor cores, starting with our Zen 2 design, to further address potential Spectre-like exploits. We continue to collaborate closely with the industry on these vulnerabilities, and are committed to protecting AMD users on these and other security threats, as they arise.

Furthermore, AMD Is not the only one making changes to the architecture of their CPUs as Intel has promised a hardware fix for its processors that will roll out in 2019.

Intel CEO Brian Krzanich revealed that the company is working on a hardware fix for its next line of processors that will be available in 2019. According to Brian, the company plans ‘in-silicon” fixes by the end of the year.

Also, there is a shortage of GPUs in the market thanks to the cryptocurrency mining and the situation is not looking to going back to normal. However, AMD has noted that it will increase its GPU production to bridge the gap.

Do you think the next gen CPUs from both AMD and Intel will be secure from Spectre and Meltdown security flaws? Let us know in the comments.
