AMD Threadripper Powered Pre-built Systems Exclusive To Alienware, What Does This Mean For DIY Market?

AMD Threadripper is the talk of the town these days and now that the first of the Intel i9 CPUs are out all eyes are on AMD to see what they come up with. We talked about AMD Threadripper Powered Pre-built systems from Alienware coming out next month and how it would be a disaster if these CPUs were not available for the DIY market.

Things have become clearer now and we have found out that the exclusivity is for AMD Threadripper powered pre-built systems only. If you are looking for an AMD Threadripper powered pre-built system then you will only be able to get one from Alienware. At least at the start, this could be a time sensitive exclusive deal.

If you were looking forward to getting this CPU and building your own custom build then you need not worry as you will be able to pick one up when these CPUs come out. Here is the official word from Dell regarding the matter:

“Through 2017, Dell will be the exclusive OEM partner to deliver AMD Ryzen Threadripper pre-built systems to the market. The Area-51 Threadripper Edition is ideal for customers who explore the world of mega-tasking, doing many system demanding tasks at the same time, and are looking for a complete, reliable solution from a trusted brand,

The Alienware Area 51 is a beast of a PC when configured to the max and although not many people will be getting the highest configuration, it is still great to know that the option is available for people that need all that performance. All that performance does come at a cost and that is why the Alienware Area 51 is not cheap.

Seeing how i9 CPUs have started to drop in AMD can now make some tweaks to Threadripper to make it as great as possible.

Let us know what you think about AMD Threadripper and whether or not you are interested in buying an AMD Threadripper Powered Pre-built PC.
