AMD will be bringing Ryzen 2 CPUs and APUs in the market and now specs for AMD Ryzen 7 2700X have leaked online revealing the base and boost clock along with core and thread counts.

AMD Ryzen 7 2700X was spotted by Computerbase and according to the leak, this AMD processor will feature a total of 20 MB cache with 16 MB of L3 cache and 4 MB of L2 cache.

Furthermore, AMD Ryzen 7 2700X features 8 Cores and 16 threads and it is quite similar to Ryzen 7 1700X but, things change for the processor’s clock speed.

Ryzen 7 2700X runs at 300 MHz faster when it comes to base clock compared to Ryzen 7 1700X making its base clock 3.7 GHz. The boost clock also is 300 MHz faster compared to Ryzen 7 1700X making its boost clock 4.1 GHz.

This is similar to Ryzen 5 2600 leak which also revealed that its base and boost clocks run 300 MHz faster compared to its predecessor.

Moving ahead the leak suggests that Ryzen 7 2700X features XFR 2.0 support which should allow the processor to go past the boost frequency. However, given that it is just a leak take it with a grain of salt but, the specs for this AMD CPU make it seem very interesting.

In related news, AMD has announced EPYC 3000 and Ryzen V1000 Embedded Processors to “enter a new age for high-performance embedded processors”.

EPYC 3000 is powered by the “Zen” architecture and is targeted towards “networking, storage and edge computing” devices while Ryzen V1000 has different use cases.

Furthermore, Dell has noted to its consumers that there will be no large amount of AMD Powered Machines from the company itself and the reason is that Intel’s processor portfolio is massive compared to AMD.
