AMD Ryzen 3 1300X And 1200 Hitting The Shelves Starting 27th July

Finally, after the long wait, we have the announcement for the entry-level AMD Ryzen 3 CPUs. Two of the AMD Ryzen 3 CPUs have been announced by AMD, namely the AMD Ryzen 3 1300X and the AMD Ryzen 3 1200. These will compete with the Intel Core i3 CPUs that have 2 cores and 2 threads. What makes these competitive is the fact that these AMD CPUs have double the cores and threads.

AMD Ryzen 3 1300X and AMD Ryzen 3 1200 both come with 4 cores and 4 threads. This gives AMD huge advantage. We have heard that the upcoming Intel i3 CPUs will come with 4 cores but then they will not have hyperthreading enabled. AMD has a clear advantage here as the chips are hitting the market before the Intel CPUs.

Even after the release of the improved Intel i3 CPUs, AMD will have more threads to offer. As AMD Ryzen 3 CPUs that have been announced come with 4 threads while the upcoming Intel i3 CPUs will have 4 cores but no threads. If you were going to buy an i3 CPU then you might want to wait a bit longer as Ryzen 3 will be coming out on the 27th of July.

While there has been no official announcement regarding the price of these CPUs there have been rumors on Reddit that claim that the AMD Ryzen 3 1300X will cost $129 and the AMD Ryzen 3 1200 will cost just $109. If this is true then you will be paying $100 less as compared to the Core i5-7500 which also has 4 cores. But the AMD CPUs mentioned here also offer 4 additional threads.

Whether or not people decide to buy the AMD Ryzen 3 CPUs comes down to personal preference as well as the pricing of these upcoming CPUs. If the rumored pricing is indeed correct then there is no reason why people should buy the i3 CPUs when AMD Ryzen 3 is such good value for money and you are getting so much more as compared to what Intel is offering.

Let us know what you think about the upcoming AMD Ryzen 3 CPUs and whether or not you are interested in buying one of these CPUs.
