AMD Computex 2018 Conference Confirmed

AMD is preparing for the Computex 2018 as the company has started to send out invitations for the event where AMD might showcase its upcoming Threadripper lineup and more.

While AMD has been on a roll since the start of the year and you would be forgiven to think that AMD has revealed or released its entire product portfolio for 2018, however, AMD is yet to reveal more at the Computex 2018.

Please join us at the AMD COMPUTEX 2018 press conference on June 6th starting at 10 a.m. at The Westin Taipei. We look forward to sharing updates on AMD products and technologies, presented by AMD President and CEO Dr. Lisa Su, alongside other senior AMD executives and our partners.

Already in 2018, AMD delivered multiple new leadership products including 2nd generation AMD Ryzen desktop processors, generating significant customer and market enthusiasm. Ryzen and Radeon are again the brands to watch at COMPUTEX 2018, and we look forward to sharing new details with you at our press conference, showcasing AMD high performance leadership and innovation.

AMD has also revealed its roadmap for the rest of the year which includes Mobile CPUs with Vega Graphics, Second Gen Ryzen Pro CPU, and 2nd Gen Threadripper.

Speaking of AMD, first ever AMD Ryzen powered Lenovo Thinkpads have been listed. The listing didn’t reveal any extensive specs for these AMD Ryzen powered Lenovo Thinkpads but the listing reveals that these will feature AMD Ryzen CPUs up to AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 2700U.

Also, while AMD Ryzen 2000 products just launched last month but, AMD has confirmed that it is already working on Zen 5 Micro-Architecture. According to lead Zen architect Mike Clark, he is working on Zen 5 mico-architecture.

With Ryzen 2000 in the market, one would assume that 1st gen Ryzen products would be forgotten soon, however, the Ryzen 5 1600, predecessor to the Ryzen 5 2600, has become the best-selling CPU for AMD. Not only that, the CPU has managed to outsell the Intel Core i5 7600K and the i7 8700K.
