Acer Predator Triton 700 Houses A GTX 1080 Max-Q Chip Which Has Yet To Be Announced

At a recent press conference, the Acer Predator Triton 700 was teased and Acer talked about it having a GTX 10 series GPU but failed to mention which one. This seems very fishy indeed. Seeing how the laptop costs more than $3,000 you expect to see some serious performance and something that is better than the GTX 1070.

It seems that is what you get with the Acer Predator Triton 700. The laptop houses a GTX 1080 Max-Q chip which has the performance great than the GTX 1070 but is not as powerful as the GTX 1080. Still, this is pretty good considering the performance you get out of a GTX 1070 is nothing shabby. This should be a decent laptop that should allow you to play pretty much any game at 60 FPS.

The Acer Predator Triton 700 managed to score 17,000 points in 3DMark 11. The benchmarked version housed a Core i7-7700HQ. This is impressive considering the laptop is only 0.75 inches thick. The laptop is very slim considering the hardware that is found inside. According to Tech Report:

“Getting this level of performance usually requires a laptop at least 0.9″ (23 mm) thick or more”.

We will see how well the Acer Predator Triton 700 performs once it is released. As of right now, there have been no details regarding when this laptop will come out but we will find out soon enough. Furthermore, Nvidia will be announcing the GTX 1080 Max-Q at Computex 2017, next month.

As of right now, the GTX 1080 Max-Q cards are just a rumor so take this with a grain of salt. We could get something very different at the end. Something like a faster GTX 1070 like the faster GTX 1080 that was announced with the GTX 1080 Ti.

Let us know what you think about the Acer Predator Triton 700 and whether or not this is something that you would consider buying if you are someone that uses laptops for gaming instead of a desktop PC.
