A Sequel to Catherine Might be in the Works

From the looks of it, it looks like Atlus recently teased Catherine 2 during a 30 minute ‘Golden Employment Special’ broadcast.

Recently, the developer of Catherine hosted a 30 minute ‘Golden Employment Special’ broadcast which featured numerous interviews with important personnel from the Studio Zero so as to attract new blood in their lineup.

The studio was formed in 2016 and as remarked by the studio lead Katsura Hashino, The broadcast was quite empty of any news relating to Project Re Fantasy, which was a fantasy RPG and the studio’s debut title. However, they may have teased a sequel for Catherine in the 30-minute broadcast.

As players of the game will know, Catherine’s story is presented through the lens of a television program known as the ‘Golden Playhouse’ hosted by a character called Rue Ishida A.K.A Midnight Venus. The opening of the broadcast showed Midnight Venus hosting “Golden Employment Special” instead of the Golden Playhouse. Voiced by Junko Minagawa, Midnight Venus introduces viewers to Studio Zero before interviews of the staff begin.

After the long interviews of the staff which themselves are very informative and give us a glimpse of life inside an up and coming gaming studio, Midnight Venus returns to depart some more information about Studio Zero and the screen fades to black. Even though the visuals have faded, the voice of Midnight Venus can still be heard discussing her role in a ‘New fantasy RPG’. Read the transcript below:

Maybe a lot of you are actually wondering?

This time, I will be the new heroine! Just kidding…

(Slight Pause.)

Huh, the offer for my next job is on the table?

I mean, if that’s not Catherine 2 then it may as well be Half Life 3, right? RIGHT?
