OverWatch beta kicked-off on October 27 and has proved to be a huge success. Blizzard revealed the latest financial details and with it, the company announced that 7 million players signed up to participate in Overwatch beta.
Blizzard Entertainment began closed beta testing for Overwatch™ on October 27, 2015, with over 7 million players signed-up to participate, not including China.
Overwatch beta featured 18 playable characters all with their unique style of play. It looks like Overwatch is going to be the next big thing from Blizzard, joining the ranks of World of Warcraft, Heroes of the Storm, Diablo, and others.
OverWatch is surely the one to look out for.
On a related note, World of Warcraft lost 100,000 subscriptions since the last quarter. As of September 30, World of Warcraft subscriptions are at 5.5 million. Even at 5.5 million, World of Warcraft is the biggest subscription based game of its kind:
