How To Collect Bounties In Cyberpunk 2077

Part-time bounty hunter for the NCPD.

Seeking thrill or wanting some extra eddies? You just might get to do so by playing out your bounty hunter fantasies and taking out characters with bounties on their head in Cyberpunk 2077.

Turns out that V’s new and improved scanner (which you get in Act 1) includes an additional feature as well. It can allow you to view characters with bounties placed on them. You can take advantage of this information by taking care of such characters and earning the reward. This guide will show you how.

Collecting Bounty rewards in Cyberpunk 2077

In Cyberpunk 2077, you will come across a lot of people that have bounties on their heads. Just use your improved optic scanner to scan civilians moving around Night City. You will be able to see bounties placed on them by the NCPD.

Bounty value varies from person to person depending on their crime level. Similarly, the difficulty also varies. A bounty of a gang boss will be higher than a small crook and consequently, so will be the difficulty to eliminate him.

To collect a bounty, all you have to do is kill the bounty holder and wait for the rewards to pop up on the left side of the screen. Sometimes the rewards are instant while other times they take long as you might still be engaged in a fight. But as soon as you have finished the fight, the bounty reward is sure to pop up.

You should also loot the area once you have cleared all the enemies in the area. It’s useful to sell/ dismember/use the picked-up loot as the bounty reward isn’t as high as the effort it takes.

Reported Crimes

Another form of bounty rewards can be attained by completing NCPD crime tasks. You will, of course, be able to view these on your minimap. Collecting the bounties of reported crimes in Cyberpunk 2077, is, however, slightly different, and perhaps a little more complicated.

Once you’ve taken out enemies, you will have to collect evidence, which can either be on the body of your target or in a box. You can identify it by using your scanner, and it will be marked with a yellow exclamation mark as well.

Once you loot the box, you will receive your rewards. In some cases, the NCPD bounties involve an additional step, such as going to another location and collecting further evidence.

If you don’t receive your reward after collecting the evidence, this might be the reason. Complete the additional tasks as well and you will gain your rewards.

Lastly, whether collecting bounties is worth it or not depends upon you. Usually, the rewards are measly, unless you need to take out some boss, and it might not be worth the time or effort you put in. If, however, you don’t mind spending a little extra time and effort, you could be satisfied with the rewards.
