A new Nintendo Direct is always something to look forward to for Nintendo fans. A recent Reddit post references the tweet of an insider that suggests that a Nintendo Direct presentation will take place next week and focus on Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
A tweet made by Nintendo insider, Emily Roberts eluded to an upcoming Nintendo Direct. The tweet was recently deleted but this is what Emily said:
Are you an Animal Crossing fan?
This does possibly hint at the idea the next Nintendo Direct will have something to do with New Horizons. We previously heard rumors that two February Nintendo Directs might be happening.
This time around, there seems to be no indication of what the upcoming Nintendo Directs will be about until now. Recently, Nintendo updated the playlists of these presentations on Youtube. This also points to Nintendo prepping for a new Direct show.
Usually, Nintendo announces Nintendo Direct plans a day or two before the showing. These segments can last from seven to forty minutes. Some shows highlight multiple games while others only focus on one game per presentation. With the release of the next-gen consoles getting closer, fans are worried about the Switch staying out of the limelight for too long.
New, Nintendo Direct shows, highlighting games like Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 and Animal Crossing: New Horizons could be just what Nintendo needs to stay relevant. At this point, Nintendo only has its upcoming titles to rely on when competing against Sony and Microsoft.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is an upcoming Nintendo Switch title. It will be a life simulation video game and a part of the Animal Crossing video game series. The latest entry in the franchise was Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp which mostly received positive reviews from fans and critics alike. A presentation for New Horizons would make sense considering we barely know anything about the upcoming game.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is set to release on March 20 on the Nintendo Switch.
