Little time has passed since The Division 2 Warlords of New York DLC was leaked. The leaks, as it turns out, were legitimate as Ubisoft has officially announced the expansion pack for the game. The release date for the DLC is set for March 3, 2020. The following is an overview of the expansion via Ubisoft.
How to get Warlords of New York
Players who already own The Division 2 can purchase the expansion separately while new players can purchase the Standard Edition. This Edition includes the base game along with the Warlords of New York expansion pack. There is also an Ultimate Edition which includes the game and the DLC along with unlocked specializations, classified assignments and the game’s Year 1 content.
Players must be at level 30 to join The Division 2 Warlords of New York. Each edition will grant players a level 30 boost. Players can activate this boost and immediately play the DLC. Players will also have the liberty of fast traveling between New York and Washington DC to play the entire content of The Division 2.
The Narrative and New Areas of the Expansion
In Warlords of New York, players must hunt down Aaron Keener, a former Division agent gone rogue. Keener has rogue agents as his lieutenants and threatens to halt the rebirth of civilization. Agents will have to scour through the world of Lower Manhattan; a former Dark Zone. The game will task players to discover new zones that will have iconic locations such as Two Bridges, Chinatown and Wall Street. To bring down Keener, players must defeat his rogue lieutenants who have their own backstories and skills.
Core Gameplay Enhancements
The new update 8 will include an RPF overhaul which will allow players to manage and read their gear inventory, smoothly. The UI screen is updated to always show roll ranges for each stat on a piece of gear or weapon. God rolls have made a return that will help players to make better decisions on the usefulness of the gear. Additionally, players will experience a more streamlined gear calibration system. There will be item and stat usefulness indicators and as well as permanent attribute and stat storage at the recalibration center.
Dark Zones that existed in The Division 2 are being re-invigorated and will have a more simplistic rogue mechanic. The whole purpose of this is to make the interaction between players more rewarding.
The level cap has been increased in The Division 2 Warlords of New York. You can now level up to 40 instead of 30. Ubisoft is also introducing an infinite progression system to the game. This new system will be accompanied by 4 new skills and the SHD level. Players who purchase the expansion pack will also have access to new weapons and gear.
Seasons, Leagues and Return of Global Events
The Division 2 will have a season 1, one week after the launch of Warlords of New York. This season will be a three-month-long themed event. The event will allow the players to hunt down a new main target. Players can track down this target and his network. These tidbits will be introduced at a regular pace and will have their own backstories and rewards.
Leagues will present players with a plethora of challenges. Players will get rewards based on their expertise in completing these challenges.
Global Events will also be making a return to the game. During these time-limited in-game events, the game will be under the effect of a global modifier and players will receive rewards by completing special tasks. Players will be able to increase their season level and get several rewards. They can either do that by taking part in the seasonal tasks or just by playing the game. If Players are interested in acquiring more rewards, they can get a Season Pass.
