Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Becomes Respawn’s Best Selling Game

Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has become the company’s new best-selling title. This information was provided by the NPD Group.

It is amazing that this critically acclaimed title has managed this feat within a period of two months. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was the 2nd best selling game in the month of December, and the 6th best selling game of 2019.

Moreover, Respawn and Electronic Arts are overjoyed with the task they have accomplished, and an alleged sequel is in works at the moment.

Respawn Entertainment is best known for the Titanfall series, hence it was a surprise that the studio known for amazing first-person shooters came back with a melee Metroidvania concept, and nailed it.

Fallen Order was the newest of the games that came out with EA’s exclusive development deal with Disney, which allowed them to develop any Star Wars game for the foreseeable future. Despite a large amount of controversy, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order managed to meet the anticipations of the fans.

Another reason for the game’s huge success is that EA heavily advertised that there wouldn’t be any microtransactions or pay-to-win DLC. This is due to the massive backlash the company faced with Star Wars Battlefront II microtransactions. Hence, the company has taken the ‘pay one for the full game’ approach with Fallen Order and recently made all pre-order bonuses available to all players for free.

It is believed that the next saga of the Star Wars universe will continue through these games, as it was most obviously represented by the ending of the new Star Wars trilogy with the release of Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker. It also shows that engaging single-player narratives are not dead. Therefore, the anticipation for the sequel and possible upcoming content is high.
