Jason Schreier, a journalist at Kotaku has claimed that sources have revealed to him that Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC this year. The information related to Horizon Zero Dawn PC release comes from Schreier’s three different sources.
This is not the first time that a Playstation 4 exclusive would be releasing for PC. Recently, we have seen PS4 exclusives Quantic Dreams’ Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human being released on PC. However, the studios developing these games were not owned by Sony interactive Entertainment.
Horizon Zero Dawn is an open world, action RPG. Gamers play as the protagonist Aloy in 31st Century, who has perceptive abilities by birth. The game is developed by Guerrilla Games , and is only available on PS4 for the time being.
The game is a remarkable piece of entertainment and has been praised a lot by critics and fans all over the world.
If Horizon Zero Dawn is launched on PC, it will set a precedent in the history of gaming. If I am not wrong, I think it would be the first time a Sony Interactive Entertainment owned studio game would be coming to PC.
Before that, we also know Death Stranding is launching on PC too. Death Stranding was given a helping hand by Guerrilla Games. Death Stranding release on PC might have provoked Guerrilla Games Studio to launch Horizon Zero Dawn on PC.
A Russian gaming reporter, Anton Logvinov also claimed in December 2019 that Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC. He also accurately predicted the announcement of Death Stranding coming on PC. This adds to the authenticity of Jason Schreier’s claim.
If Horizon Zero Dawn does come to PC, will it be a wise step by Sony? We all know that Sony relies on their exclusives to keep their customer base healthy.
However, if they release their games on more platforms, it will naturally bring in more users. Microsoft has already favored this direction, and have released their several Xbox One exclusives on PC. A more diverse gaming system would help bring the widespread community together.
Needless to say, since we still have not received any confirmation from either Sony Interactive Entertainment, or Guerrilla Games the current reports should be treated as rumor for now. If anything changes, we sure will update you on that.
