How to Fix Denuvo Bug for Fallen Order and WWE 2K20

A new Denuvo bug has appeared with the coming of the new year that is affecting games like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and WWE 2K20

An interesting new Denuvo bug has come into the public eye with the start of this new decade, particularly in games such as Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and WWE 2K20. The bug appears to be similar to the rumored Y2K bug from the year 2000, but we have a way to fix it.

According to reports, the bug is causing both games to crash to desktop immediately upon start up, but there’s nothing saying that various other games that also make use of Denuvo aren’t also affected. There does appear to be a reason for it.

As was stated in the first paragraph of this article, the bug appears to be similar to the Y2K bug from twenty years ago, where many predicted that computers of the time would not be able to process the coming of the new millennium and would shut down, causing global chaos.

While thankfully not as dire a prediction, if Denuvo is unable to process the coming of 2020, then that’s a rather large oversight on their part (though Denuvo as a whole isn’t without bugs). Thankfully, the Denuvo bug has a fix, though it’s just a temporary one and you may have to do it multiple times until an actual fix comes out.

The fix in this case is to simply set your computer’s date back to December 31, which should fix the bug. Denuvo is thankfully working on a fix to this bug, though they haven’t given any sort of indication on when players can expect to be able to work on the affected games.

Even though the current fix isn’t the most practical, it’s the only one that other people have found is guaranteed to work, at least until an official fix can come about. Then again, the situation is only half as bad, as Fallen Order is likely the only game of the two that people actually want to play.
