CD Projekt Red has released another clue — the second one — in the ongoing alternate reality game (ARG) for Cyberpunk 2077. Those fond of solving difficult puzzles and particularly to unravel the secrets of Night City can spend their holidays hunting for hidden messages.
The following is the latest ARG clue for Cyberpunk 2077 and you can head over to Reddit as well to see what the passionate community has figured out so far.
My 1st is in Wales, but not in Welsh.
My 2nd is in Iceland, but not in Icelandic.
My 3rd is not in Sweden, but it is in Swedish.
My 4th is in England, but not in English.
My 5th is in Poland, but not in Polish.
For those unaware and a bit confused, ARG is just a clever marketing gimmick devised by CD Projekt Red to build hype about Cyberpunk 2077. The campaign began last year when the debut trailer released at E3 2018 was discovered to be jammed with hidden messages from the developer. Many internet sleuths unearthed digital codes to redeem The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on GOG. Hence, there still remains a wish that one of these ARG clues will contain free copies of Cyberpunk 2077. In addition, those hidden messages also gave away explanations for the game’s long development time.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be the first game from the Witcher developer to feature an online functionality, which is why the developer wants to do it the right way the first time. The multiplayer portion won’t be available at launch and will release in the form of a free update sometime down the road. CD Projekt Red is finding an “intelligent” way to monetize the multiplayer without compromising the goodwill gained from the fan-base in the past years.
Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020. There are no current plans to release the game on next-generation consoles as soon as they arrive in the holiday season of 2020. The developer will eventually look into PlayStation 5 and Project Scarlett but not right away.
